Oh, you can't read these Chinese characters. It's omiyage. When you go visit someone you take a gift from your hometown, or if you go overseas you buy presents to take back home and give to your friends. These gifts/souvenirs are called omiyage.

The caterpillars are in a cup.

When they turn into a chrysalis, you put them in the net-like thingy. That's where they turn into a butterfly.

And it comes with a couple of toys to keep them occupied while they're waiting.

And, the instructions tells the kids to set them free after a few days.
