You really have to wonder about people who go out and leave their kids behind when they're so young. But then there's the ones that bring them alone and leave them strapped into a car, parked in the sun on a summer day.

Acceptable behavior in some places. I feel for the mother, though, it can be really hard to wrangle kids and laundry especially when you are up and down and up and down multiple times like in an apartment building.

I just can't imagine where leaving two year old children alone could be acceptable.

A few places in Europe I can think of that it would be ok to leave them in the apartment and run across the street to do laundry. Heck, it is ok to leave the kid in a stroller outside the front door of the apartment building while you chill out upstairs, this is not very different.
