Hi. I have been in The US for 20 years. I was in a B-2 Visa and Overstayed. Been with my boyfriend for 18 years and now that gay Marriage is Legal We decided to get Married.

We are sending on the Package

I130

I485

g325 for him

g325 for me

I765

I864

Checks paying for the forms

copy of Marriage certificate

Birth certificate of both.

copy of Passports

copy of Costco(both cards)

renters insurance

Copy of our Lease

printed 60 pics of the relationship through the years.

pics of the wedding

some letters we wrote to each other years ago .

Now My question is.. how many greeting cards should i send with the package? I have about 100 .. should i just take a pic of all the cards together and just scan the inside of each card?

Also We always had our separate bank accounts, I pay the bills with mine and then he always gives me half of what I pay. I know they want you to have a joint account but I think at this point it would look weird after all We have been doing it this way for the last 18 years together.

also anything else you recommend I should be sending with this package? We were going to get a lawyer but it is just so much money, and the forms seem easy to fill out.

anyways Thanks in advance for your information.

Proof of legal entry?

Hey good job getting all the papers right! I don't think it's absolutely necessary to have joint accounts. You have 18 years of relationship to prove your love and marriage.

We also didn't get a lawyer, we went to Infopass instead. If you're close to the city, do that, it will make you feel even more confident about your case. And he might also tell you not to send 60 pic s and 100 greeting cards. We spoke to an immigration officer, who laughed at my neatly printed actual photos because they can not attach it to their files. So we just made a collage of about 10 photos on one plant sheet of paper. Just pick the best and maybe some oldest. But you can always bring them to the interview later.

Also be sure you filled out the Affidavit correctly, there is some question where you have to put a number of household or something. People always get it wrong.

Good luck!

Thanks. yes The affidavit is probably the only form that seems a bit complicated. We were doing it on the computer and it kept showing 3 dependents.. but it is just me and husband. I will definitely check into Infopass. Thanks again.
