Hello,

I came in on J1 visa too. Your best option is to go back home and file for a fiancée K1 visa. That's what we did.

I'm not sure how to do it otherwise.

Please help me!
I am a Bangladeshi currently I am in USA with J-1 visa & with US department of state scholarship program My visa will expire May 10 2016 But I want to stay here & want to get citizenship

First of all, citizenship is a long way down the road, first you need to be able to stay here on a visa, and/ or get a greencard.

Secondly, that is not easy to do. Is there an employer willing to petition you for a work visa? Do you have close family in the USA who would sponsor you?

You should discuss an H-1B and eventual permanent residency with your employer.

Adjustment of Status from H-1B, Family-Based
07/26/2012 - 10/18/2012: 85 Days from Application Received to GC Received.
Removal of Conditions
07/22/2014 - 11/14/2014: 116 Days from Application Received to GC Received.
Naturalization
02/03/2016 - 05/31/2016 : 119 Days from Application Received to Oath Ceremony.

OP is probably subjected to 2 year home residency requirement if the J1 program is funded by the US (US department of state scholarship program)

This too. I always forget this for J-1.
