I'm curious(even though I know you won't answer), why are val and I race baiters? Since you're naming names:

Why are you? I have no idea why. Why did you say we're talking about black people?

In my link:

https://unitedfamiliesinternational.wordpress.com/2013/09/10/fatherlessness-poverty-and-crime/

It's pretty clear that not only are garbage families and garbage parents responsible for creating garbage kids, but many of these studies find the exact same trends among white families as black.

Good luck!

Adorable, you're still trying to be relevant in this thread.

i seriously can't do anything regarding your lacking ability to see the big picture.

oh and..The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) designates United Families International as an anti-gay hate group.[why?][12][13][14]

Lib posts about it about 95% of the time(when there's no good Muslim thread) in fact his no guns for negroes was pretty obvious. Boiler has his itch to scratch as well, and even you with your comments.

This forum has no less than 5 threads dealing with race everyday and it's not me, Janelle, or even val doing the majority of the posting. So what's the rule? It's okay to post threads about black people as long as you just don't say the word black people? I'm just trying to get an understanding when I see threads like this one and the comments that lack any sympathy or even empathy when it's to poke fun at black people.

i think they just want to all be left alone for their big climax. i bet it's really hard to finish with all these distractions..

Second line of this thread.

Those poor children just need some toys and a place to play (or dey kill yo crackah @$$ yo)

Pretty sure white children don't talk like that.

I know white and black families in that category are the same, but let's be honest, these comments wouldn't even exist in here if this city was full of white youth acting the same way. And you can say yes they would, but it wouldn't be true. I've seen it here on a consistent basis.

When you two are finished making out perhaps you can regal us with your pearls of wisdom on the topic. So far I'm seeing nothing but tears.

I got you:

White Families in poverty: Mad at being poor and no good resources, so turning to crime or violence is a no brainer. Not really complicated. The reason it's less profound in white neighborhoods than black is more complex.

Black Families in poverty: Same as above with a bit more incentive. The black communities are flooded with images/music that propels them to get comfortable in their misery. Rap/R&B sells that type of lifestyle by glamorizing it to the point that folks want to stay in those conditions and stew in that hopelessness. What's worse is some of us have begun to defend that foolery as gospel and see nothing wrong with it.

There is a distinct push to those people poor, and to enable that type of behavior. If this country wanted to, they could help end it, but like I said before DLOE when it comes to black people and poor white people.

and shockingly, i don't completely agree with marvin's assessment as i maintain that kids in suburban america listen to the same music and have the same role models telling them to sell drugs, be pimps..get that money. kids in suburbia and kids suffering affluenza are different from kids in poverty in two ways. first, they generally have the financial support of their parents (read as 'actual lawyer') if they come into trouble. second, while suburban kids participate in just as much criminal/violent behavior, they just don't get caught as often (unless they go full columbine) OR their youthful revolt is just a passing phase and they move on (without a record). profiling starts early, as do profiling's negative effects.

  • Across age groups, black students are three times more likely than white students to be suspended.
  • While boys make up the large majority of students who are suspended (about eight in 10), about 12 percent of black girls are suspended and 7 percent of Native American girls are suspended. That's a rate higher than that of white boys (6 percent).
  • Black students make up about 16 percent of enrolled students, but make up more than a quarter of all students who are referred to the police.
  • Native Americans are also over represented among the suspended. They make up one percent of enrolled students but two percent of the suspended.
  • Students with disabilities make up about 12 percent of the student population, but they make up 75 percent of those restrained at schools. There's a racial gap there, too: blacks are about 19 percent of the population with a disability, but make up more than a third of students who "are restrained at school through the use of a mechanical device or equipment designed to restrict their freedom of movement.
  • English-language learners were underrepresented among the suspended.

The report doesn't specify why there are such glaring disparities in school punishment, much less why those begin in preschool.

Thanks, this is a good post.

I answered boiler a few times. Good family = high chance of good outcome, bad family = high chance of bad outcome

Good luck!

so i was completely on point in brushing off your opinion since you clearly suffer the delusion that suburbia is filled with good families and ghettos filled with bad families. thanks for the clarification.

Thanks for the article. I agree that with having money you can listen to it without ALL of the negative connotation affecting you. The reason I say it's more profound within the black community is because most black youth that come from a poor background tend to idolize that lifestyle since they see it as a way out of the neighborhood. White kids in suburbia don't have to sell drugs mommy and daddy can just buy them the car they want.

for a very select few, it is a way out of the neighborhood. most popular rap artists came from poverty, so it's not like a poor kid's dream to become rich rap star is completely off base. the thing about poverty is, it's a trap. everyone is looking for a way out but the vast majority will not only never escape - they will probably bring their own children into the exact same trap. no matter how 'non garbagey' they are as parents.

and white kids in suburbia don't have to sell drugs - but by and large - if they are doing drugs they are selling in some fashion. plenty of rich kids are out there just waiting to catch possession charges, if only their neighborhoods were policed in the same manner as others.

I agree 100%. Living in those conditions make trying to do the right thing a literal battlefield. I read about the cities of Chicago where the kids have to walk along the freeway and dodge oncoming cars at high speed since that's safer than walking through the neighborhood and risking being shot. These factors have a heavy influence just as well since you're dreaming of getting out of that hell and rapping or playing basketball/football(also a racist trap) seems the better alternative.

I heard the biggest drug users are soccer moms on prescription drugs. But for some reason, it's never really highlighted...
