Hello,

My name is John 25 years of age and is ready for the next step in my relationship with my fiance. If anybody can help me out with a step by step that would be so great I have so many questions that needs to be answered :)

-Well first is, do I just fill up the I-129F by myself or does my fiance need to sign it too?

-Second is, is that all needs to be sent to the embassy? Or do I need to mail them all the proof of our relationship like pictures, messages, boarding passes, etc?

-Third how long does it usually take if I file it this month? Also how can I choose which state to send it to? (Im currently residing in Illinois, do they process it faster over here)

-Fourth my fiance is Filipina, but she's working in dubai right now, Would that be a problem if she process all the paperworks in abu dhabi embassy?

-Also I got my US citizenship through naturalization, how do I prove that im actually a US citizen since I don'y have a birth certificate thats valid here.

Hi John, we have the same case. My Fiance is in US and I am working here in Dubai. Good luck to both of us in our K1visa Journey. :)

Calm down, your jumping the gun.

An alien # number will be assigned to her after you file your I-129F petition. You will received notification sometime after you receive your NOA1.

Thanks for the info sir,new here so still trying to figure out how to use all these tools for this site :) Thank you though youve been really helpful :) Hope you can help me out again later on :)

Since you are new here at VJ I have a couple of helpful hints.

You can compare your income level to that which is required for the poverty levels here: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

First, start your timeline that way we know where you are in the process and also it will give you an estimate when you will be adjudicated for each of your steps along the way. To complete your timeline look below your picture in the left column and select "timeline" and once on the next page again near your picture there is you will see "follow similar timelines" so choice it and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement. You'll see how long it is taking others. It's not perfect but it's the closes you'll come to what is the possibility for your processing timeline.

Second, please change your profile so others can see what visa you are chasing. Simple steps to change your profile; Select your picture>Edit Your Profile located under your picture and scroll to the bottom of that page to "immigration profile" and you will see "Immigration Status". Use the drop down box to choose your visa type. Then save and that's complete. While you are there maybe there some other requests that you can fill in.

Third, follow the guides for the K-1 visa. Some here have pointed you to where they can be found. Read all the way through and you will find most of your questions will be answered. If not, then return back here where many can help you.

Follow the instructions for the I-129F and use the GUIDE here as a reference. You, the petitioner file this with USCIS. Make a copy of your entire U.S. passport to prove U.S. citizenship.

No issue if your fiancee works in Dubia. Is that where you want to complete the visa application also or does she plan to return to the Phils?

I think he was asking about the Alien number because it is a field on the i-129F. So, John, if your fiancee does not have an Alien # (never been assigned one by the US government), then leave that field blank. When you receive your "NOA2", which is the approval of the i-129F petition, the Alien # will be assigned.

Well the very first step would be to actually meet your fiance in person. :D

I saw the income required for two people which includes me and fiance and right now its at 20,050 and I make 20,000 anually would that affect my affidavit of support even if I have another job which I earn another income? Should I count my fiance for the gousehold of two or should I just consider household of 1?

You should count your fiance in your household when figuring out if you have enough to support both of you. If you do not have enough, either get a second job or find a sponsor.
