I read VJ K-1 guide ( http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide ), which says that I need to prepare an Employer Letter for I-134 Affidavit of Support. ( Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available) ).

My question is, as an active U.S. Army Officer, do I still need to get such a letter from my employer (U.S. Army? local installation finance office?) or I can just use my Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) and W-2s?

Thank you very much!

you should have your orders correct? Also just get a letter from your commanding officer, a statement of service. You can also go to the military site that verifies you are currently active. If you don't know the site let me know I can get it when I go to work Monday.

Roger. Sorry for posting two threads.

Use your LES.

Should be more than fine especially as an officer.

Thank you very much!

I have the orders for my tour at my current duty station and my U.S. Army officer contract, both state my active duty status. Could you please let me know which military site you were talking about? Thank you very much!

So when you are preparing the packet 3 with the affidavit of Support which documents to you provide as Military personnel. My husband to be is Army and also the petitioner. Is it enough if we sent the Form 134, LES, Letter from Commander and Taxreturns? Or do we need to get a letter from his bank as well?

Just the LES and tax transcipts would be fine. Bank statements are for assets.

Hi Guys,

I have a question...my fiance found that the I-134 is not used anymore but a form called I- 864. Do you have any idea about this??

Thanks in advance and greetings from Colombia.

I-864 is for the AOS not the K1 visa. I-134 is for the K1 interview
