I already have my NBI for my interview on Thursday.. Do I need to still get Police Clearance? I met couple of friends during my medical and they said I should just to be sure.

Local police clearance? NO.

Follow the embassy instructions letter http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/1178798/feb2015/K1-K2%20Applicant%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_February%202015_.pdf

a. OTHER COUNTRY POLICE CERTIFICATES. Applicants aged 16 years and older must also present police certificates from other countries where they have lived for six (6) months or more after reaching age 16. As with NBI clearances, foreign police certificates should be obtained in any maiden names, aliases or nicknames used while in the country in question, including different spellings you have used of those names. Country-specific information on how to secure police certificates is available on the State Department’s website at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html.

I'm afraid you have gotten bad advice from other people who have good intentions to help but unlike you they don't have Professor Hank to guide them. Follow Hank's advice his help is always correct.

:thumbs: You are good to go!

However in my case, they asked for my Police Clearance.

"The embassy may require additional documents at the interview. In particular, if the following three items are all true, the applicant must bring a new police certificate to the visa interview:

He or she is more than 16 years old;

The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and

He or she still lives in the country that issued the certificate." -From NVC Confirmation letter for CC.

You only need a police clearance if you lived in a foreign country for a year or more from the age of 16 or older. You will need an NBI.

POLICE REPORT: Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance for Travel Abroad Purposes from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used, including different spellings you have used of those names. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record” or "No pending case”. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year from the date it was issued. The NBI website is http://www.nbi.gov.ph.

a) OTHER COUNTRY POLICE CERTIFICATES. Follow the embassy instructions letter as to what is required.

FYI - you will need a new CENOMAR for the interview, PSA will issue a CEMAR being you are married, but it is required.
