Maybe they just hadn't asked yet. But if you want us to argue about your hedonism theory, best to explain it a bit more, because as it stands it's a very bare assertion.

I noticed no asking for proof was required for comments made countering the hedonism theory. They're simply accepted as fact.

Again - you proposed the 'theory' without any reference to supporting facts. If we're not nailing down any specific examples, then the discussion will continue in the same fashion. Perhaps you could advance some ideas (relating to specific cultures) that support why you believe that.

And I asked, why no one other commentators are asked to do the same. This isn't a study hall. I'm just curious as to why some ideas are readily accepted with no proof and others require proof.

There is no simplistic answer to social decline, it is an incremental process rationalized by those living within it, but to ignore or dismiss the role of social interaction and the breakdown of morality as a cultural norm is inexcusably bad scholarship.

I'm doing just fan-f'king-tastic! Married life is cooler than I thought it would be, and I'm not tired of it yet! (Surprisingly enough.) I've been busy doing the laundry and working my @$$ off to support the two person home that I'm now living in, whereas before, when I could sit in my dad's basement and type on the Off Topic forum, I had lots of free time. That's now gone! I miss it.... but I sure love that downy fresh feeling after a good load of laundry!
