AOS Interview - Success, pending name-check.

Hi All.

So, we had our AOS interview in LA yesterday - all very easy - and not worth the 2 weeks of sleepless nights we've had!

The interview waiting room is on the 8th floor - there were about 80 others waiting in there - we were called in about 40 mins past our appointed time.

We both swore to tell the truth - then the officer opened our AOS file and started to go through some papers.

He asked how we met, checked our address and phone number and date of birth - he checked we had married within the 90 days allowed for K1.

The original papers he wanted from us were our birth certificates, passports, joint phone bills. We had used a co-sponsor (Mum!) and he wanted copies of her passport and birth certificate (which we had).

The 1 thing he pulled us up on was my Vaccination certificate - I had tried to get away with using the original certificate from the London K1 doctor - but he insisted we must get a Civil Surgeon to transfer that info to the I693a - so i will set about doing that this week. We just have to mail that back to him.

He told us that the FBI namecheck wasnt done (surprise, surprise!) - but we are approved pending that.

It was all real easy - and we had a bit of a laugh and a joke with the officer - so now we just wait for the name-check to come back............... :whistle::thumbs:

5/23/03: Justin arrives to visit me in IA from SK.
6/7/03: We got married!
8/23/03: Filed I-130 from SK
8/25/03: Phoned border guards & asked if J could escort me back to IA, yes.
8/26/03: Arrive in IA
8/27/03: Went to USCIS local office to ask if J could stay in the US and file papers, yes
2004: I-130 approved!
6/05: Filed AOS/EAD
7/2/05: Rec'd receipt for I-485
8/05: Rec'd RFE for Biometrics
9/9/05: Rec'd RFE for medical
12/2/06: EAD APPROVED!
12/5/06: EAD card rec'd
1/15/06: AOS interview date for 4/11/06 at 11:00 a.m.
4/11/06: APPROVED!!!!!! NO MORE USCIS FOR 10 YEARS!!! WOOHOO!!! 2016...seems more like a page # than a year. Haha.
