Hello there,

I will file for AOS next week and yesterday I initiated the filing procedure for my tax return along with my spouse (joint tax).

I have two questions:

1) it seems like we will be getting a refund --- is it legitimate for an immigrant like myself to participate to a refund distribution?

2) On the I-864, my wife will be my sponsor. Can the joint tax return in any way affect our sponsor-dependence relationship?

When did you marry, the taxes being filed now are based on 2015 , did you marry before the end of December. If you are filing jointly are you including your world wide income ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
