Proof of Meeting in The Past Two Years

My fiance and I have been together for almost 7 years. For 5 years we're literally together because I studied in the Philippines, then I left and came back here Dec, 2014.

The big question is, do I provide evidence such as pics and travel ticket dating back from when we started dating which is 2008 until Dec, 2014 or just proof that we met the past two year?

 OUR TIMELINE :jest:

K1 VISA/SSN/DL....:wub:

  • 03/07/2016 - I-129F Sent
  • 03/10/2016 - I-129F NOA1
  • 06/04/2016 - I-129F NOA2
  • 06/27/2016 - NVC received
  • 06/30/2016 - Case number assigned
  • 07/01/2016 - NVC left
  • 07/08/2016 - Consulate received
  • 07/18/2016 - Interview date
  • RESULT: Approved! :dance:
  • 08/12/2016 - Arrival (POE: Los Angeles Airport)
  • 08/20/2016 - Got Married :wub:
  • 08/29/2016 - Applied for SSN/Got my SSN card
  • 12/16/2016 - Applied for DL - (I was told to wait until they verify my status and will send me a letter)
  • 01/11/2017 - Got a mail stating that I can apply for a DL ;) and Passed the knowledge test 
  • 02/10/2017 - Passed Driving Exam / Received a temporary DL.
  • 02/22/2017 - Got my DL with 6mos validity. :wub::wub:

 

AOS, EAD and AP APPLICATION

  • 10/11/2016 - Date filed (AOS, EAD and AP)
  • 10/25/2016 - NOA date
  • 11/08/2016 - RFE AOS
  • 11/23/2016 - Biometrics taken
  • 11/28/2016 - RFE sent
  • 12/05/2016 - RFE notification received.
  • 01/12/2017 - EAD card is being produced and AP approved
  • 01/13/2017 - EAD approved.
  • 01/17/2017 - received NOA (AP) in mail 
  • 01/18/2017 - New card mailed
  • 01/21/2017 - Combo card received!
  • 02/25/2017 - AOS status changed from "Request for evidence was received" to "New Card is being Produced" 
  • 02/28/2017 - AOS Status changed from "New Card is being Produced" to "Case was APPROVED!!!" :jest::jest:
  • 03/01/2017 - AOS Status changed from "Case was approved" to "Card was Mailed to Me"
  • 03/03/2017 - GREEN CARD RECEIVED :D

I would personally provide as much evidence as possible. Maybe photos from the very beginning of the relationship, to the middle and up to more recent ones? Just a few from each time frame? That way it can possibly help establish the length of the relationship.

3-22-2016 Check was cashed
3-25-2016 Received NOA1
6-6-2016 Received NOA2 (73 days)
6-10-2016 Received NOA2 Hard Copy
6-27-2016 NVC received case (3 weeks)
6-29-2016 NVC Case Number.
6-30-2016 Case left NVC
7-25-2016 Medical Scheduled.
7-21-2016 Packet 3.
7-27-2016 Interview
8-8-2016 Visa Received.
8-28-2016 POE NYC.

AOS Process

9-15-2016 Sent out package.

9-17-2016 Package received at Chicago Lockbox!

9-24-2016 Received receipt texts for all three petitions. <3

9-27-2016 Check was cashed - could see case in USCIS app. :)

9-30-2016 Received hard copy of NOA's. Notice date - September 23rd.

10-11-2016 Received Biometrics appointment letter for October 28th.

10-15-2016 Case Approval Was Certified by USCIS

10-20-2016 Received RFIE for Affidavit of Support (dated 10/14/2016 on the letter)

10-21-2016 Sent out RFIE back to Department of Homeland Security with Co-Sponsor.

10-28-2016 Completed Biometrics.

10-31-2016 Response to RFE was received.

11-15-2016 EAD & AP approved! :)

11-18-2016 EAD being sent out.

11-19-2016 Received NOA2 for AP.

11-22-2016 Received EAD/AP in the mail. :)

11-28-2016 Case is ready to be scheduled for interview!

USCIS is very clear on this. As per the requirement couple should have met within the two years of filling they dont care about past. Also from my personal experience photos are secondary evidence you need solid proof of in person meeting such as passport stamps, flight ticket receipts not just itinerary, boarding passes, any atm transactions, etc. Send as many valid proofs as possible that shows you two where in the same place at the same time.

You must give evidence that you two have met face to face within the last 2 years to have a K1 petition approved.

As far as showing a bona fide relationship then evidence from the beginning to the present is typically sent.

2 separate things. Both are needed.

Almost the same situation we had. For 9 years in the relationship, we tried front loading evidences from day 1, middle and present (such as pics, call logs, old school emails etc..). But as much as submitting everything, we end up sending the petition with only a couple of pictures (most recent within 2 years required). BUT since we created a hundred page album of every details of our 9year relationship, we did not submit those all. And we didnt get an RFE either.

Lesson learned: there's nothing wrong to front load, you wont submit them ALL, but at least it's there READY when u get an RFE.

Technically, we did meet the past two years because I was in the Philippines since 2008 and it has only been 1 year and 3 months since I left my fiance to come back to the US... With regards to passport stamps, the only stamp I have within the span of two years is the stamp from when I departed the Philippines, since my arrival stamp was back in 2008... We have a stamp for when my fiance and I went to Hong Kong, but that was in 2012

USCIS only needs evidence of having met WITHIN THE PAST 2 YEARS from the received date of the I-129F petition. No need to provide evidence dating back 5 or even 7 years.

You want to provide passport stamps, airfare tickets showings your most recent visit to see your Fiancee, and yes a few pictures together.

All your relationship evidence will come in handy once doing the actual visa application at USEM later.
