Hi everyone,

My mom received the following letter from Vermont Service Center. This was regard to our case reconsideration filed February 2001. The letter was as follows:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

Your petition for alien relative (Form I-130), which was approved by the USCIS, has been returned to this office for the following reason:

The beneficiary has already gained status as lawful permanent resident of the United States.

The returned petition will now be stored at this office and no further action is required."

The letter also contained an A Number and File Receipt Number. Can anyone enlighten us what is the letter for? And what are the next steps do we need to do after receiving this letter?

Thank you very much.

It clearly said it..

your approved I 130 was returned to the VSC, will be stored/ filed and no further action will be done.

It says your Mom / beneficiary on the approved petition has already gained an LPR status in the US. So is your mom is already an LPR? No need to pursue the petition. Nothing to do next.

Hi, sorry if I sound silly but what does it mean to be a LPR? My mom (beneficiary) is in Philippines while my dad (petitioner) is in the US. Can she now travel/immigrate to US?

Thank you.

LPR - Lawful permanent resident - your letter says that the beneficiary your mom is already in the US.

Your said your mom is in the Philippines, and still trying to migrate then I am confused now with your letter. Please re-check your letter again. Read carefully, again and again.

Who is the petitioner and beneficiary as stated on the letter? Maybe the letter is for your Dad's case?

there was nothing indicated in your letter.

do you have your mom's case number? the MNL______ no?

Yes, we are confused too. We called the USEM here in Philippines but was advised that the petitioner to call USCIS. Thank you for your time to reply.
