Hi - My mother sent her AOS and my civil documents to the NVC. After waiting the full month, my mother received an email asking her to provide a W2 to me, to take with me to the interview once it is scheduled. It clearly states not to send the W2 to the NVC. A copy of this e-mail was also sent to me, and the letter is clearly addressed to my mother (with her name and address listed at the very top). That said, here are my questions:

(1) There is absolutely no mention of civil documents. Should I expect a separate letter from the NVC (addressed to me) requesting any incomplete/missing information for the Civil Documents? OR would it have been included in the letter that was addressed to my mom (the petitioner).

(2) The e-mail was sent today and the CEAC website still shows "N/A" for both the AOS and the Civil Documents. Why is this showing incomplete if they are asking for the W2 to be taken to the interview, and have not even reached out to me about the Civil Documents missing anything or being incomplete?

(3) What is the next step for me? What should I expect from the NVC and when?

It always shows N/A for the documents. When the AOS payment goes to N/A we call that 3 N/As and you have a case complete.

Here's where I'm confused. The words "Case Complete" do not appear anywhere on the correspondence I received from the NVC. The petitioner (my mother, filing an I-130 for unmarried son/daughter over 21), was sent an email asking for further tax documents. However, the letter clearly state NOT to send the tax documents to the NVC, but rather take it to the interview. It says that "we will schedule your interview" and to take the tax documents from the petitioner, and to take it to the interview. I'm confused because the words "Case Complete" do not appear anywhere on the email. That's why I'm not sure if the case is complete or not. Can I please get your thoughts on this?

Second, that e-mail was sent yesterday. IF the case is complete (based on the aforementioned correspondence), how long would it take for the PAID to switch to N/A on the CEAC website? Thanks again :)

hehe thanks for the mention @NLR.

Hello Charles_Smith123. The Case Complete email never says Case Complete. It's a word we use on VJ. What you got was a Checklist Case Complete. So follow what they say bring corrected documents to interview when it's scheduled.

Did you call NVC yesterday to verify that you indeed have Case Complete? If not call them monday.

If you do have Case Complete you are now in the Interview queue. But you have no timeline so I can not comment on interview timeline since I don; tknow your embassy.

The PAID may not ever change. Really matters not. That isn't an exact science. You need to be calling NVC. Call monday 7am to midnight and find out.

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Please Please put your VJ member name only. Not nicknames or real names whatever your VJ name is. It's below your profile picture!!

Hi dwheels76,

First, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to help me :) In response to your question, I have not called the NVC to ask for a case complete as the email they sent said that it was not necessary to call, and that they would contact me once an interview was scheduled. I'm assuming that means case complete?

I have gone ahead and filled out the timeline to the best of my ability. The payment of fees dates are guesstimates but everything else is correct. I am in Canada so Montreal would be my consulate. With that said, I have been sponsored by my mother. I am over 21, and unmarried, so I am F1B. Based on my timeline, and my visa category... how would I go about finding out the approximate date to receive an interview. I know there are spreadsheets out there that show this information, but my understanding is that those spreadsheets are only for individuals that are going over based on marriage/fiance visa... and that's not me.

Thank you again for your help :)
