how do i know if my application have been deliver to uscis in chicago lockbox,cos today will be the 3rd that i have sent in my application through post office.

saheed you will receive notification from USCIS. If you filled out the email notification form you'll get an email and also a hardcopy

Thanks Thesmiths2016,so what will be the next thing after receiving the notification from USCIS?and how long does it take for the I-130 petition to be Approved?

It's case by case but seems like they are processing some November arrivals at the moment. I wouldn't count on It being approved by USCIS and being sent to the NVC before June at least but you never know! It's really just a waiting game.

Just do some reading, especially that wiki link I mentioned. I've read it multiple times to get my head around it all so that when I get to each stage I'm well and truly ready. It seems the shortest time from I-130 to interview stage has been around 140 days by that is rare as most seem to be the 200-300 day mark.

We all just have to keep our fingers crossed and do what they ask when they ask for it.

USCIS website shows case was received. "Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by April 20, 2016". Is this priority date? I'm guessing not...

Priority dates have no relevance to I-130 petitioners. It is other visa categories like F2A,etc that use priority dates.

However, your NOA1 should list a priority date on it.

Sent to Nebraska ... Not so great haha, but hopefully they will surprise us all.

I forgot to say ... Filed from abroad via the lockbox (but first via the in laws for a US check)

Atleast it didn't go to Texas or even worse Vermont...Nebraska isn't too bad.. California is a rare case..

Priority dates have no relevance to I-130 petitioners. It is other visa categories like F2A,etc that use priority dates.

However, your NOA1 should list a priority date on it.

Continue waiting. I was slightly longer as well and as long as you sent in the G-1145 you'll get a notification soon telling you with service center and what not.

Delivered 19th. NOA1 by text/email on the 24th. I know some people have taken longer and its very nerve wracking.

I saw that my check was cashed before I saw anything else. So that's something to keep an eye on if you used that method of payment.

If everyone would put a timeline in the signature line, lots of the questions here would be answered.

I actually didn't get to check if money was cashed because I used a cashiers check. That and a botched delivery. Not fun.
