In July, the Nebraska Service Center (NSC) will begin processing cases involving Form I-918, Petition for U Nonimmigrant Status. Sharing this workload with the Vermont Service Center (VSC) will balance workloads between centers and provide flexibility as USCIS works towards improving processing times, efficiency and customer service to this victim population. USCIS will implement the transition in phases, which will allow NSC officers to receive specialized training and mentoring from VSC officers who currently adjudicate U nonimmigrant petitions and gain experience in adjudicating the U nonimmigrant petitions before they begin processing these cases.

Oh my, seriously? They should move it to a faster service center, NOT Nebraska! Nebraska Service Center is already SLOW!!! :protest:

I have lost my patience...

This makes me want to pull my hair out!!! So, basically, they will be pulling workers to train and work on the i-918 and the rest will have to deal with whatever is already there. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! That the process will slow down is soooooo not what I needed to hear today.

I wouldn't get stessed out. There are many workers and many types of applications. You don't know if they are taking from the I-130 workers or otherwise. Staying positive is hugely challenging yet also hugely important.

Agreed. Getting stressed out won't help anything. We are all in this together but making sure the waiting game is not your main focus and stress is hugely important.

LOL! The Texas people who were transferred to Potomac last November would disagree with USCIS on that one. They were transferred in November (having already waited 3 months at Texas) and then spent 6 months waiting at Potomac whilst people who were sent to Potomac in the first instance were approved within 3 months.

It's a stressful journey when everyone keep asking me when & why. All I can answer is I don't know and keep explaining the application process to everyone. Most importantly, I plan to conceive in near future due to my age and health condition. I don't want to be put at a situation where I have to conceive immediately once I arrive the states. It takes time to adapt to a completely new environment, experience culture shock, make new friends and get a job as well before starting a new journey to be a mom. I keep telling myself to be positive and pretend like everything is ok, but I get anxious deep inside my heart. What if I have to wait longer. Worst part is I can't visit my husband as I have no tourist visa. I applied two years ago and got rejected because I was being honest to the officer that I m visiting my bf. He rejected immediately with the assumption that I won't be coming back home and refused to look at the documents I prepared. I even requested my boss to write me a letter that I'm coming back to work by which date. I had a real bad experience as the officer was damn rude during my tourist visa interview. We thought we could get together soon after we got married. But then it is another chapter of nightmare. Meanwhile My in laws are pressuring me to conceive asap. I m so tired of all these but what can I do? Praying and stalking are the only things I can do now. Stalking via app and forum everyday like a crazy woman :(

Sorry for venting it here. I will not give up and wait for miracle happens. :)

Venting is good. We have the same problem. Everyone asking when they get to meet her. When will you have kids.. can we live a little first? Our lives restart after this process. We need things like cars, credit, and a place to live. On top of that we might me medically unable to have kids. So its can be stressful. Espexially from her country where life is simpler and they don't understand the cost of things here. Even if it is the land of opportunity.

So one step at a time. Approval. NVC. Interview date.... all I'm thinking right now...

Crazy fast - I wish I had that luck!

Phoenix lockbox isn't necessarily AOS - https://www.uscis.gov/i-130-addresses - it just depends where the petitioner lives. I filed at Phoenix and it took 4 1/2 months.

No expedite or any special circumstances, I was also surprised when I received the approval on May 9 but extremely thankful. currently waiting on the phone right now for an nvc agent so I can change my husband's mvc case number to montreal instead of manila.

I wish you luck on this roller coaster ride of emotional stress! Every time my toddler tells me "my daddy is not here" and gives me a said face my heart breaks into a million pieces. Hopefully your petition gets approved soon!
