Culture test in St. Lukes, Manila Philippines

So I am already on my 5th week of waiting for my culture test result. I haven't received any call from St. Lukes medical center unlike my friend who also underwent culture test. On her 5th week, St. Lukes called her to extend the release of her medical result to 10 weeks for the reason that they have detected something in her specimen and they still need to see if it is a TB virus. But thankfully, it wasn't a TB virus. So she's fine now and ready to go.

So I would like to ask especially those who underwent the same test, if a TB virus was detected in your specimen, does St. Lukes immediately call you to come and start with your treatment? Or do they wait for the 8th week to break the news to you?

Yes, if the culture starts to grow SLEC will call to start your DOT.

No call is a VERY good thing!
