Hello everyone!!!
Here are new poverty guidelines for 2016. https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/fil ... i-864p.pdf

For household of 2 there is 20,025 income.

I have a question, hope I am just stressing and overthinking. My fiance has approximately 22,000 of income but when we calculated, his adjusted gross income became 20,500. He is self-employed and has self-employed deductions, I am confused because some people say they use total income but other people say they use adjusted gross income.

Is it fine if his adjusted gross income (20,500) is pretty much close to the new poverty guideline which is 20,025 for the AOS and interview in embassy for K-1 visa?

For a self employed person the income used is line 22 of the form 1040 tax return.

Line 22 of a 1040 form is Total Income. That is what is used for self-employed. If the USC's Total Income is 20,025(after the business deductions) or more, then they meet the requirement.
