They don't call him Mr. Flip Flop for nothing.

Yep, and the ACA is now a bad thing, yet Romney is the one who created it and made Massachusetts the first state to implement it. It became bad when Romney decided to go on the nation wide platform and run for Pres knowing he had to appear more conservative to win the nomination.

When Trump crashes, like Romney and McCain did, I hope the GOP finally realizes its not the messenger, it's the message. It really doesn't matter how many different way's you serve up a bowl of dogcrap, it's still dogcrap.

How much more obvious could it be? An outsider in Trump, who for the most part is a complete buffoon, is steamrolling over the front runners of their party, so what's their reaction to that? They attack the outsider in hopes that people will come back to the same old garbage that they're running from in droves. They still don't get it. The republican party deserves to be dismantled.

I'm not a trump fan but what makes you think he will? I actually think he's got a beyond decent shot at winning this.

There's bad apples everywhere....Unfortunately I don't see as big an outcry when an innocent cop doing his job is killed by some punk..Sorry but I tend to be more on the good side.

you didn't answer my question.

The people voting in the Republican Primaries and Caucuses want dogcrap. Kasich is an outstanding candidate with vision and morals and no potty mouth...not what the Republicans voters want to today.

Younger, Moderate and Idealistic people are not voting in off election years and smaller elections giving reactionary voices a big voice at the table in State Houses, Congress and Local elections. Pennsylvania has not gone for a Republican since 1988. 1988 and yet only 5 out of 18 Congress seats are Democrat. Why?

Progressive voices need to understand, all elections matter, not just every four years. I hope the participation of young people in the Sanders campaign starts something that goes beyond every four years.

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

He has zero middle ground appeal. It's not that Hillary has the greatest either, but it's hard to see Trump doing well in any of the swing states and that's the bottom line really. And that's been the Republicans ongoing bottom line too. You're not going to pull the moderates too far to the right or left. And you can't fool your way back to the middle. Trump's a good actor, and he's got a great act going, but he's going to have a difficult time selling that act to those that aren't buying it.

I don't know a lot about Kasich. On the surface I see some thing's that I agree with and some that I don't, but at least there is a substance there. A moderate conservative would probably find a lot of support with the middle ground voter in a general election, but the GOP of today is where moderate conservatives go to die. It's too bad.

I think Trump has shown that he can pull more people to him than we think - nobody gave him a chance at first for the GOP either yet he keeps gaining momentum. He's basically tied with Clinton right now, can you imagine what would happen if the economy tanks further? If it does, it's a sure win for him. I posted this chart before in the other thread(towards the bottom of the post):

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/577938-one-year-to-nowhere/?p=7954381

So the reason I say 80:20 is only because I am still giving it a chance that they might manage to hold this baby up for another year. In that case Clinton has a better shot, but if not, then it won't really be "the economy stupid" but more like the market stupid. The economy is just often a consequence of that. If my target for this year for the S&P is met, Trump will crush her.

The reality is more than that though. If the Republican nominee was Kasich, Jeb Bush, maybe even Christie, I could conceivably envision a scenario in which I would vote for them. Although economic and market fluctuation is not a big influence personally. However, there is no conceivable scenario where Donald Trump would get my vote, and I am not alone in that. As popular as Trump is with his base, he is just as overwhelmingly unpopular with those who don't like him. I don't see a lot of people on the fence.

That's the reality that the Republican's are facing and why, I think, there has been a surge against Trump from the party leadership. They know how difficult it will be to win with this guy.

Well, in a hypothetical(yet very probable) scenario of the economy being in a recession and people being faced with the choice of either - a female senator(I'm not saying it matters to me that she's female but does seem to matter to some) with no real experience in real world economy except for the imaginary world her and obama and some of their bank buddies live in; and trump - a male businessman with plenty of experience(note - I have already said before I personally don't think he's such a great businessman, but that is beside the point) - who do you think most would think could pull them out of it faster/better? Mind you, I don't believe they actually influence what happens as much as most people believe they do, but that could sway enough people to vote for him as opposed to her.

It is equally important to note that if it does not happen this year, there is literally a 99.9% chance it will happen during the next president's term, which means if it is Clinton she will most definitely be a one term president. I think in that situation the person to vote for would not be who you like the most, but rather who you like the least.

when did this idea erupt that america should be run like a business? it's mind boggling.

It's not whether or not America should be run like a business. Study after study has shown that in times of market crashes and recessions, Americans are more inclined to vote for the candidate from the party that's NOT already in power(and vice versa). People are going to want someone who they think can get them their jobs back, or help them avoid losing theirs, it's as simple as that.
