As soon as Trump win's the Republican nomination, Canada would seriously have to consider comprehensive immigration reform. Also the possibility of a wall on their southern border. Everything Trump promised really.

I am married to a Canadian and it takes two years+

Well I know I said comprehensive immigration reform, but as it relates to Trumps nomination, marriage based immigration wasn't what I had in mind.

I was up in Canada in during the 2004 elections, and while it's been a long running joke to us, the idea of increasing numbers of disenfranchised Americans (illegally) moving to Canada every time we have an election is not as funny up there.

I think there is an 80% chance of Trump being the next president. Sadly, I also think there is an 80% chance that most of those people won't keep their promises.

Hey Janelle, my wife and I's next "state of choice" to live in after VT(which we handpicked out of 49 possible states lol) is Hawaii...muahahaha lol

Seriously, it's going to be either Hawaii or CA. We'll be in VT a few more years though.

Just in case one what thinking of Marrying to get out of Trumpsylvania with a green card marriage , I thought I would throw that out their. As far as illegal Americans taking refuge in Canada, two words : Star Whackers

I doubt they end up getting kicked out. I feel bad they settled in NB, though. Not one of the better provinces.

Good luck!
