Just getting started, questions

Hey there, me and my spouse were prepared to do the visa process through the long standard way, but certain things happen which made us have a remote chance to go for a DCF, we decided to try our luck asking the consulate for permission and much to our surprise they approved it (making us panic because we were caught by surprise).

This is what they told me on the e-mail I got: "send all the necessary documents for filling the I-130 petition to this Consulate. Please include a copy of this e-mail along with the documents you submit to the Consulate.Once we have received the proper documentation, we will proceed with the documents verification and schedule a date for you to come to the consulate for the application fee payment and petition interview"


So does that mean we gotta send them the documents by mail? They didn't even bother to send us their address so it's all a bit confusing.

Also, since they're asking us to send the docs through mail, does it mean that my spouse (the USC) doesn't have to go with me to the interviews? She is having some health issues so she needs to go back to the US asap, she already has a flight booked for 2 weeks from now so she really can't stay. We're in Brazil and doing this through the Consulate in Rio. I'll be trying to contact them just to be sure but they can only be contacted through email and they take 3-5 business days to answer so we don't wanna sit idle while we wait.

Well, they are not specific but they did ask for actual hard copies from us, so I assume they want that from you as well.
Ask them for an address. Since they are saying "send everything to this consulate and include a copy of this e-mail" to me it reads like "snail mail actual papers".
Not sure about the other things but I was told the USC does not have to be present at the interview. We are doing DCF in Athens.

I know what the address is, I'm just wondering if anyone actually send their documents through mail and if the presence of the USC is required in any of the steps.

IF possible, I would go with her, and hand the docs over in person. There are many things that can be fixed on the spot, translations needed, errors in completing the form, etc. Can save a lot of snail mail time. Especially if she is going to be back in the States.
