We have been waiting patiently for a month and we still haven't received the call-in letter for my fiance to go pick up the packet 3 & 4. I have observed that the embassy could either send me a letter here in the states, send it to my fiance in Ghana, or after inquiring about it, they may send an email in place of the letter so the beneficiary may go to the consulate on a Wednesday and pick it up, but neither of those have happened. I have been sending emails to the U.S. Embassy in Accra back to back and have not gotten a reply. I only got an automated response that stated the email had changed to IVaccra@state.gov from the prior one of IVDVAccra@state.gov. For those of you all who got their call-in letters in the last few months, can you all reply with how long it took you to receive the call-in letter and by which method. There are about 8 of us in the same timeline for the k-1 that have not heard anything, some who date back as far as Dec.1.2015 of when they got their NVC letter. Please give us some insight.

The K-1 is technically a non-immigrant visa, maybe try that email instead of the one you're using? Here's what's it says on the embassy info page:

If you are a U.S. citizen looking for information about non-immigrant visas for someone in Ghana, please send an email to NIVACCRA@state.gov. You should receive an automatic reply acknowledging receipt of your email, and a response to your email within 5-7 business days.

If I remember right, when our call in letter never showed up this is the one I used. They responded in a few days, but that was 2 years ago. I don't know what their response time is now.

I wish I knew. I'm in the same boat, except I got my NVC letter saying it had been transferred on December 15th. Haven't heard anything since, despite the fact that I've emailed them everyday for weeks. In total, I've probably sent over 50 emails not including what my fiancé has sent, or times he's called, or times he's been to the embassy without any response at all. It's a complete mess. I'd settle for just an email back at this point. It's so frustrating. To top it off, I recently moved states and jobs and needed to let the embassy know, but they aren't replying to emails which to me means they don't know...so now I'm afraid of my fiancé ever does get an interview, it's going to be fishy when my stuff says one thing but their records say another.

I've been talking to another girl on here who sent her I-129F after me and just got an appointment for her fiancé about a week or so ago. The major differences in her case are that A) she front loaded and B) she wasn't transferred and C) she filed from NY I believe whereas I was filing in TX but got transferred to CA. Maybe these things have something to do with it? But I hardly think so, because it seems as though these things would have been an issue BEFORE they reached the embassy level. But who knows.

The customer service there is terrible. It leaves a lot to be desired.

give us some insight.

Send your inquiry to :

Immigrant Visa Case Inquiries

If your inquiry is regarding Immigration visas, please send an email to IVDVACCRA@state.gov.

Please include in your correspondence/email the following:

* Your full name

* Your case number (should be a 10 digit number such as ACC2007123456)

* State whether you are the applicant or the petitioner

* Clearly state your question or concern in the subject line (such as Scheduling Question or DNA Question)

You should hear a response back anywhere from 7-30 days. That is how long it normally takes. However from my understanding right now they are backed up considerably. Keep trying and sending your email at least once a week. I know it is hard to wait but that is all you can do. I have been dealing with the Ghana Embassy for almost two years and it is very difficult.

I hope you get your Call-In-Letter soon!! Good luck.

Have your fiance check his post office box. it will be probably be sitting in there.

Keep "stalking" your status update for a date change. The moment the date changes since arrival of your case at Accra, could mean the call-in letter has been mailed to fiance or someone has responded to your email so check your junk mail also.

Don't bombard them with emails, it will only prolong your case.

Good luck!!

It came regular mail to me the petitioner here in the states. i don't remember the actual date but it was like a Thursday i believe. if they take too long, you can email the embassy or if that doesn't work your fiance can go without the letter and see if he can do a visa follow up with maybe a screen shot from the ceac website on a Wednesday and see if he can be let in.
