No Green Card 3 months after POE - CR1 Visa

Hi there.. I'm confused about what to do. My wife has a CR1 visa and arrived on 10/26/15 and had the visa stamped. However, it's now 3/1/16 and there has been no green card received in the mail. I moved and my address changed so I did call USCIS back in November and the confirmed the change in address. Should I have received my GC by now and if not what can I do about it?

I shouldn't have to fill out any more forms right? No need for a I-485 because the DS260 covered that right?

BTW, I tried going to USCIS check case status site and it asks for the receipt number. I put in the receipt number for my CR1 visa but it didn't work. Would I have gotten a new receipt number?

Also at POE... my wife didn't get any papers or new numbers just the stamp on the visa.

Can anyone give me some guidance on what's to expect or do?

Thanks!

Justin

Hi,

have you paid the fee prior to arrival at the POE? If you did not, they won't send you the green card. The receipt number to check on USCIS website is the IOE number you received when the fee was paid.

If you paid the fee, sometimes the USPS has issues delivering the card. In my case it reported as undeliverable and sent it back to Texas. I had to schedule a couple Infopass appointment to make them send it again.

Oh yeah.. I paid the $165 fee back in November. So I need to schedule an infopass appointment? I've never heard of that... what is that? How do I do schedule it?

Thank you for the response!

Hey everyone... I called USCIS today and they told me we should have received receipt numbers (first three units of the receipt number are letters corresponding to the service center) after paying the $165 fee on epay.gov. When I informed them that we never received such information (while, of course, they took the $165), they said I need to do the following:

1. Go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/contactus

2. Fill out the form requesting they inform me of the receipt number for this case

3. Once I get the receipt number I can go to https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do and put in the receipt number to get the status of my case

I completed the online form tonight.

Hope this helps.
