I just attended the CFO seminar last Feb 19th.

My fiance was divorced twice, and yes, the divorce decrees for the two satisfied the counselor's requirement. She also asked if I have an idea why his past marriages ended with divorce.

The questions are very straightforward (how did you guys meet, what she likes about you, what do you both have in common)...your fiance will be fine. The seminar and counseling really was not as dreadful as I thought it would be

Have her bring a photocopy of your US Passport's bio page and a few photos of you together.

And based on my experience, No, I wasn't asked for my fiance's USC background check.

[/quote

Thank you very much for responding with your current experience at CFO.

In the Philippines there is proof of singleness - it is called a CENOMAR ... and CFO wants the USC to show proof too... jeez... good grief... duh. But what can a guy do?

Cenomar for the Applicant and not the petitoner....

She might be asked if she know about those divorces and she should respond truthfully (if you guys talked about it then she will not have any issues).

If you do not have any past crimes, felonies etc... then you are ok.

BUT if you do, where you truthful about it on your initial I-129F application ? if not then that might be a problem...

Of course my fiancée knows about my past divorces and all details about them. This is even documented in the first two weeks chat logs when we first met.

And ####### are you insinuating by suggesting if I was honest or not about my criminal history on I-129f. You think I'm a stupid ### moron who would put false information before a FBI background check?

The only reason I mentioned about background check is because my fiancée is doing CFO before embassy interview. I've heard of one person being asked by CFO counselor to bring copy of her USC Background check.

Simply just answer my question, so I know if I need to pay for my own FBI criminal check to bring to CFO to prove I have no convictions of anything, not even one.

Wow, just trying to be helpful here.... on your response I do feel that you are worse than a stupid ### moron

I can't imagine CFO can be this worrisome! I am not allowing them to cause me any anxiety. I will have my CFO on the 21st.

I will check updates here for those who recently have done it. Goodness! what are they thinking we are bunch of kids getting married? I actually don't see the relevance of the CFO nevertheless, I need that certificate/ sticker.

Thank you to all the recent CFO Seminar attendees posting there experience here. It seems CFO randomly requests proof of singleness from USC. I made appointment with U. S. Embassy a few days after my fiancée will attend the CFO. This way if they do request my proof of singleness, I will get it at my appointment with embassy, and if they don't I'll just cancel my appointment.

It really helps everyone when recent CFO attendees share their experience, please keep your valuable comments posted to help others preparing to follow in your footsteps.

Thank you

Philippines is being a Nanny to the extreme with CFO, it was created because of the trafficking... like you I don't see the relevance. And like you my wife attended because the sticker was required to leave the country.

For some CFO is the nightmare from hell, for most it is a sunny day, it all depends on the person - meek and timid... they get the nightmare

My fiancée just completed the CFO seminar and got her certificate on March 9, 2016. She came prepared with every document we could think of including my two divorce decrees from the past. Her one on one interview took only 3 minutes and she answered every question counselor asked her.

Amazingly though she had a backpack full of documents the counselor didn't even ask her to show her any documents including my past divorce decrees. Questions she was asked was: how many times was your fiancée divorced? What was his two ex-wife's names? What was reason those marriages ended? What was the dates of the marriages and the date of the divorces? How long has your fiancée been an American citizen? How old is he? How old are you? How many kids does he have and what are there names.

My fiancée answered all questions quickly with confidence and looking her in the eye. She also filled out all questions with correct answers on the written questionnaire before seminar started. I believe her confidence and quick answers to counsellors questions persuaded counsellor to not even ask to look at any documents including my past divorce decrees. My fiancée was also very active participating in group discussion, and asking counselor questions about what do you do in case of situations.

Making the counselor feel important and showing respect for her purpose. I'm so proud of my fiancée she is a very mature 27 year old and I am 53. There was only two lady's out of 14 that the counselor gave a hard time too. One was 23 and her fiancée was 69, counselor kept asking her over and over if she knew what love is, this girl stayed confident and kept confident that she loved her fiancée regardless of his age. She did end up walking out with her Certificate. The one lady who didn't pass was 51 years old and lacked bring copy of her Cenomar. There is a lot of truth to what these veterans here like Hank, Tahoma, and a few others keep saying, that you need to be confident and have your documents ready.

The mantra "be confident, look the CO in the eyes and complete knowledge about his previous marriages with what, when and why" never changes. We preach this day in and day out. It just happens to be solid advice to pass the CFO. Your answers and demeanor are a thousand times more important then the documents they ask for.

Thanks for sharing your CFO experiences. Others will learn from them. Good luck on the rest of your journey.
