wow, just got another text/email saying

"On August 13, 2016, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*[redacted]. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice"

So does this mean the interview should be coming soon ? Possible next 2-3 weeks ?

So does this mean the interview should be coming soon ? Possible next 2-3 weeks ?

8//13 + 5 weeks +- 1-2 days will be your interview date. Bcause NJ offices do same day oaths, it is very likely you will walk out as US citizen that day. Good luck!

Nothing much to mention other than it was 40min late but the interview itself took less than 10 min

Just got back to my husband's work assignment in the UK after a whirlwind 72 hours in california. The oath was amazing!!! Looks like quite a few of us were at the AM session in LA Thursday?? All in all there were 3071 naturalized that morning I believe, from 143 countries. Truly incredible. I loved how quick it all was, too. The ceremony itself was 30 minutes, very precise and punctual.

Friday I spent the day at the passport agency in San Diego getting an emergency US passport for our travel back to the UK saturday, and I must say, it TRULY hit me that I was a US citizen when they handed me my beautiful blue US passport that afternoon!! So exciting!!!

I still can't believe it all!! Good luck to everyone coming up on interviews and oath ceremonies, and congrats to everyone who is officially American!! Woohoo!!!

First, I wanted to thank you all for sharing your information, experiences and knowledge with us here, specially the frequent posters :)

I applied in later March, 2016 for my citizenship, completed my FP in April 25, 2016, since then I did not hear back from USCIS. Around end of June 2016, I completed a SR online in an effort to get someone to look or review my case but I did not hear anything back. The status of this SR shows not assigned for processing since day one.

In July, I called national customer service line and talked to T1 officer, he said to wait since my case is within the posted processing times for Atlanta field office.

Last week, I called national customer service and managed to talk to T2 officer, the IO put me on hold for 10 mintues then came back and told me that I need to wait 2 weeks. So, I asked him is the delay because of background checks, he answered he does not know and I need to wait for 2 weeks. He said he sees my prints were received and that they have all the documents. I asked him again about the background checks, he said I can't tell you, you need to wait 2 weeks and call back if you don't hear from us. I logged in to USCIS website and I saw that there is a SR created with status that says "not assigned for processing".

My question, is that normal that T2 did not know if I cleared background checks or not? Is it normal that both SR say not assigned for processing? Do I need to get myself ready for a long wait then?
What are your thoughts?

By the way congrats to our new citizens and best of luck to our soon to be in their interview & Oath ceremonies.

Just passed my interview in Santa Ana, CA!

Nothing much to mention other than it was 40min late but the interview itself took less than 10 min

The 6 questions:

11. What is the economic system in the United States?*

46. What is the political party of the President now?

62. Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?

64. There were 13 original states. Name three.

70. Who was the first President?*

93. Name one state that borders Mexico.

Oath ceremony in one month (sept 22nd in Los Angeles) as per the calendar !

Just got back to my husband's work assignment in the UK after a whirlwind 72 hours in california. The oath was amazing!!! Looks like quite a few of us were at the AM session in LA Thursday?? All in all there were 3071 naturalized that morning I believe, from 143 countries. Truly incredible. I loved how quick it all was, too. The ceremony itself was 30 minutes, very precise and punctual.

Friday I spent the day at the passport agency in San Diego getting an emergency US passport for our travel back to the UK saturday, and I must say, it TRULY hit me that I was a US citizen when they handed me my beautiful blue US passport that afternoon!! So exciting!!!

I still can't believe it all!! Good luck to everyone coming up on interviews and oath ceremonies, and congrats to everyone who is officially American!! Woohoo!!!

I had my Oath Ceremony August 11th @ LA convention center in the morning. The whole process was smooth.

I am new to this forum. I have some questions for you guys about applying for passport with name change.

  1. I received my Naturalization Certificate and District Clerk Signed Copy of my name change petition.
  2. I went to SSA and gave them my NC and name change doc. They said i will get a new card once their system is updated. May be in 10-20 days.
  3. Updated Name in DMV. Will get new card in 20-30 days or so.

Question

Can i apply for passport now or I have to wait for new SSA card and CA DL before applying ?

I went and updated my Social Security info today.....waited about 35 minutes to be called, then it took about 5 minutes to get it done.

05/09/2016 - Interview letter in mail.
06/15/2016 - Interview date.

06/15/2016 - Interview passed!
06/20/2016 - Text message & email saying In line for Oath ceremony.
06/29/2016 - Text message saying oath ceremony letter mailed.
07/02/2016 - Oath Ceremony letter in mail.
