Had interview today, IO was nice Chinese man but couldn't reach a decision based on selective service. Did anyone have this issue?

He said i needed to have a letter clarifying why i didn't register for selective service from the sss.gov.

Please advice.

Had interview today, IO was nice Chinese man but couldn't reach a decision based on selective service. Did anyone have this issue?

He said i needed to have a letter clarifying why i didn't register for selective service from the sss.gov.

Please advice.

Hi Chiel7, Sorry for the selective service issue. Were you between 18 and 26 when you become a LPR?

I'm no expert on this but at 27 I don't think you were required to register for SS. I hope someone in the same shoes would reply. You may want to use the search function to look back older threads or start your own thread on this issue. Not everyone reads the monthly threads.

I did not have my interview yet so I'm not sure if this is what they are looking for. You will need to provide a typed or printed statement explaining why you did not register and provide a status information letter from the Selective Service. In the statement you will need to explain why you did not register. In my case I mentioned that I was not aware of the requirement until I was over the age. I also obtained a letter from the Selective Service called status information.
By the way, I'm going through Atlanta office as well.

I'm officially a U.S citizen! had my oath ceremony this morning.....39 other people and I at the ceremony. It lasted about 45 minutes and the judge stayed around at the end for people to take pictures with him.....all in all it was a really nice morning!

Finished dealing with USCIS after 13 years.

Good luck to all the people on this journey!!
