Almost a March filer here. Ready to send my application this week. I just have a couple of questions before signing the form:

I am filing for citizenship on basis of my residence for almost 6 years in the US. I originally came to the US on a K1 visa and was married for 5 years to my ex-husband. I have a couple of questions about the N-400 form:

1. My ex-husband has 2 children from a previous marriage who I raised full-time as my own and still maintain a relationship with them. Do I list them on the form even though their father and I divorced? The form says 'current stepchildren'. I am not sure what 'current' really means in this case.

2. The part where you list your employment -- I had worked as a freelance translator from home for a few months in 2014 and 2015. When I filed my taxes for that year; the tax person said that I either needed a 1099 form from the person that I have translated the books/documents for or I needed to file as self-employed but the income that I made did not qualify me to apply as self-employed. Do I list that I worked as a freelance translator on the form or not?

3. I listed my approximate travel dates on the form. Non of my visits outside of the US exceeded 6 months? Is listing approximate travel dates okay?

So, my first N400 packet was and is still lost. The tracking number was never activated by the post office I took it to, even though I handed it straight across the counter to them, and it cannot be found at any point in between.

After calling the USCIS hotline and speaking with a Tier 2 officer there, I overnighted a second, duplicate package, along with a letter detailing to not duplicate file our petition if they ever by some miracle find our 1st package.... and this second package was DELIVERED TO THE WRONG ADDRESS!!! What the ???

However, whoever received and signed for the package at the wrong address, was gracious enough to bring the package by USCIS' building, and they just charged our CC on file with the G-1450! Yay! The process is finally started!

So, our info:

Interview location will be at: Santa Ana, CA

Phoenix, AZ Lockbox

GC Date: 6/7/2013

Sent: 3/8

(Finally) Received: 3/14

Payment Charged: 3/16

We sent in the form to receive text/email notification, but we still haven't gotten anything...maybe later today, or tomorrow. Also can't wait to receive our physical NOA!

Also want to add, as I know someone will inevitably bring it up.. I know that even with our two lost/ misdelivered packages, we still only lost a week off our filing time, and we filed on the very first date possible for our 90 day period. However, my husband got a job offer in Europe that's supposed to start ASAP, max June, so we're trying to get as much of the process through as possible so as to not have to fly back and forth a ton of times.

I dont know whats Happening with my Application they received it on 03/09 at 10.26 am and still check has not been en cashed yet and i have not received any acknowledgement letter...Any suggestion although i called texas service center they said wait for 10 days after u can see it was delivered.
