Thanks Kris

The only complicated thing for Americans in my name is the hyphenated last name, and for the biometrics they put with and without the hyphen to be safe.

Let's see.. :)

No need to speculate about the biometrics result yet. I noticed you are an early filer. You will need to wait at earliest GC anniversary minus 30 days to be in line. In your case 5/18 is the special day. Explained here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/593952-in-line-for-interview-exactly-1-month-before-anniversary/

:) Maybe those guys also saw it discussed somewhere else, so on so forth.

I feel like some of the important and general information should be pinned to the front page of the forum and only the admins are given permission to make changes. Sometimes you need to dig in the pages to find an important information that was already discussed many years ago. There is no need to reinvent the wheel.

I 100% agree. This should be a big fat sticky :

"You want to file early? No use, you will only get in line 1 month before your anniversary. Don't stress, sit back and relax :) "

As it is also pointed out in that same thread, filing early has the advantage after you are placed in line for interview. With an earlier priority date, you will not wait as much as others to be scheduled for interview. That will be particularly helpful in offices like New York City or San Francisco where the interview queue is long. However, if you belong to a fairly quiet field office like Memphis or Tampa, then filing early won't create an advantage since there is not much waiting in these cities anyways. Regardless let's hope by the end of this month all March filers will be in line for interview.

Hi Everyone,

My N-400 was received by USCIS on March 28th(Notice received on the 31st). On April 14th(might of been earlier but I was out of town and did not check my mail) I received my bio-metrics appointment for April 27th.

I'm not sure if it's the norm, but, my status never changed on USCIS website, still shows "Case Was Received" even though my I've already done the bio-metrics.

Should I call them, or, wait a couple of weeks?!

Thanks,

Ah that's the silver lining, an early priority date :) Cool. Hope when they put me in line they will see my 2 months old priority date and schedule me for next day interview :)

Cheers!

Thanks,

It won't change until your background check is done... it'll then change to "inline for interview".

That could happen within days of biometrics or could take a few months.

I don't see your info in the table, but if you applied 90 days early, it won't happen more than 1 month before your green card anniversary date.

Hello March 2016 Filers,

We filed N-400 application in CA and a few days later had to move to TX. I changed the address on the green card online. Not wondering what is the process now?

Will the N-400 servicing center for CA take care of this application even after we have moved? I am sure changing the jurisdiction is not an option.

Does anyone have any info?
