Oh I see, is it normal that the interview is scheduled in two months time after being notified you're in line?

Not necessarily. Workload of each field office is different. You have to look timelines from previous months to find how long people waited for their interview letter after placed in line for interview.

For Boston office I found these three timelines:1) Feb 2016: jenn28 in line 3/25, interview 5/11; 2) Jan 2016: lamasoft: in line 1/28, interview 4/6. and 3) Nov 2015: Tim42 in line 12/30, interview 2/20. Looks like 1.5 to 2 months for the Boston office.

Had my biometric today :)! Very busy in there today and lady at the desk was rude but who cares I'm one step closer.

OAN: does anyone know where I can time a interview time line table for Newark office. I'm just wondering about how long after the "in-line" notice comes should I be excepting an interview as we are going on a cruise and I'm hoping it doesn't fall around the same time.

Oh I see, is it normal that the interview is scheduled in two months time after being notified you're in line?

For our local office (@San Jose, CA) 2 or even 3 months of waiting in line is normal.

Based on timeline of other applicants (October, November, December 2015 and January 2016) I should have my interview in June and interview letter should come in May (1 month before the actual interview)

I had my fingerprints done today. It was a pretty unpleasant experience. I showed up in the morning, 5 hours before my scheduled time, since I really needed to be at work today. The lady at the front desk gave me a very hard time. I had to wait 1.5 hours and she was lecturing me on how if I couldn't make it at the scheduled time, I should have rescheduled my biometrics entirely. I do know how people can do walk-in biometrics, not only at their scheduled time but at a different date! Definitely not the case in my office.

Anyway, it is all done now, could someone please update the timeline, since it was not updated when I posted that I got my biometrics letter few weeks ago, so my date is not in there. Thanks!

Well if you have a doctor's appointment for 2pm, you won't show up at 8am and expect to be seen immediately unless it is an emergency, right? Same thing here too. I had my biometrics appointment two days ago for 8am and I still had to wait 1.5 hrs. Maybe they give 100 people the same time slot or it was filled with early walk ins but it wasn't a pleasant experience for me either. I don't care if they let early walk ins when the office is quiet but it is unfair for people who show up their to the appointed time and still wait long. I wish they have a more modern system like the infopass where you can select the time slot that fits your schedule but it is the way it is. Hopefully it was the last time we ever needed to give fingerprints.

I understand that, still there is no reason for the front desk person to be mean. She could have just politely turned me away and told me to come back at my scheduled time, if it really is such an issue for them. I was nice and explained that I needed to be at work, and it takes me 1.5 hour to get to work from the place where the biometrics were. It's impossible to change the time of the appointment, only the date. It seems that most of the people on this forum walk-in on different dates and have no problem. I showed up on my scheduled date, just few hours earlier. I do not complain that I had to wait, but I did not appreciate the attitude.

Please update my record. I received a letter for biometrics on Friday April 15th. The biometrics date is Wednesday April 27th.

I will have my 2 kids with me aged 2 & 4. Has anyone have any experiences taking the children to this appointment? I don't want to get their and be denied my entry because I have kids with me. I will have it in New Orleans (my field office). It's a 4 hour drive from where I live. My appointment is at 2 pm. Thank you in Advance.

Please update my record. I received a letter for biometrics on Friday April 15th. The biometrics date is Wednesday April 27th.

I will have my 2 kids with me aged 2 & 4. Has anyone have any experiences taking the children to this appointment? I don't want to get their and be denied my entry because I have kids with me. I will have it in New Orleans (my field office). It's a 4 hour drive from where I live. My appointment is at 2 pm. Thank you in Advance.

I don't think there will be an issue if you have no other choice (sitter etc), but then again each office is different. Maybe someone from your field office will chime in with some personal experience.
