So I have a few questions I wanted to ask and a few worries I want to get off my chest. But first let me tell you my story so far.

Back in January 2015 I moved to Maine on my K1 visa and married my beautiful wife. After sending my AoS packet we received a RFE a few months later. After responding to the RFE we got a letter through the post saying how there will be a 6 month delay on the case and that we may not need an interview. So January 2016 comes around and we are hoping for a decision. However we received yet another RFE for completely different information that the first FRE asked for. So we sent what they needed back 2 weeks ago and the tracking said it was revived 02/16/2016 however the status online still says "request for additional evidence was mailed" and we are worried that 1 we might of sent it to the wrong place and 2 that if we did send it to the wrong place and the time expires what do we do?!?

I live in Maine yet the address to send the RFE was a PO box in California? It just all seems so strange and I'm just wondering if anyone else is going through the same or might be able to help.

Thanks

Your RFE would say where to mail it. If you aren't having an interview, a person in California could be deciding your case. Sounds like you did the correct thing and it was delivered.

They wont deny you without reviewing your application if you have responded to the RFE in full and they receive it before the mentioned deadline. That means don't just leave out anything if you think you have filed it with the original application package and if the RFE is asking for it again. Keep photocopies of all documentation you send along with your RFE and also keep the copy of certified mail you sent to USCIS as proof. Give them time. I had an RFE and it took them almost 2 months after I responded to start processing my application again. Hope this helps.

Apply 90 days before expiration of your work authorization. Be optimistic but sometimes USCIS have unexpected delays and it may take longer than usual to process cases. Better to be safe and have your work permit up to date.

You can renew the EAD up to 120 days before it expires, so go ahead and send in a renewal.

You are one of the "potential interview waiver" cases (at least that what it sounds like to me). These cases are handled by the CSC instead of a local office. And since they appear to be taken a long time, I would not let my EAD run out if I were you.

The CSC has not handled the interview waivers for years now. Family based AOS cases are all sent to the NBC. They are processed there without interview, or sent to local USCIS offices for interview.
