To those of you who knew Sylvia aka Gizzyboo http://www.visajourney.com/forums/user/152222-gizzyboo/- she passed away yesterday from breast cancer, she fought a long, difficult battle. She was originally diagnosed 11 years ago and was in remission until the spring of 2014 when her cancer returned with a vengeance, she only had 2 months after her husband arrived before it returned. She fought with every ounce of her being, she was afraid to die and wasn't ready to leave this world. I last spoke to her 3 weeks ago when one of her close friends passed from the same cancer, she talked of how scared she was. Her husband is from Algeria and she loved him, along with her fur babies, with all of her heart and soul. She died peacefully surrounded by family. I met Sylvia here in 2013 while her husband was in AP when she reached out to me for advise and friendship. After he arrived in the US we remained close and spoke often. I can truly say she was by far one of the sweetest human beings I have ever had the privilege to know. RIP sweet friend you will be missed by so many :cry::cry:

I am not on here much so I just saw this. I am heartbroken. She reached out to me after I was diagnosed and shared her own experience of fighting breast cancer as a young women (she was only 32 when initially diagnosed). She told me she was over eight years cancer free and that even if it was aggressive (as breast cancer in us younger women often is) it is still beatable. It was so uplifting to hear from someone so far out. Spring 2014 was only a few months after she wrote those words to me. After eight years I thought she was going to be ok. My head was spinning so much back then I never properly thanked her.

Thank you Mimolicious for sharing a sincere posting about our dear friend Sylvia. I was fortunate to have met her here on Visa Journey too. Even though we didn't meet in person, she and I chatted online on a regular basis & gave each other moral support as we both were going through the Visa Journey for our spouses. We had a special connection because what were the chances of two Asian females meeting our MENA husbands online and through gaming site too.

The afternoon before she passed away. I had a premonition because Sylvia's name came into my mind (for no apparent reason). I immediately sent her a message. Unfortunately, it I didn't get a response. The very next day, I found out she passed away. I cried for a long time. But I know she is not suffering anymore. She fought a brave fight! She will always have a special place in my heart because she has left a lasting memory forever in my mind and heart. Rest in peace Sylvia. (L)(L)(L)(L)
