Hi

I have a question about the Letters from friends and families as evidence. According to what I am reading, the letter should include information such as the Social Security Number, Date of Birth of the friend or family. No matter how close we are to these people, I feel it is not right that my husband and I should see their personal information. I am worried about any possible exposure of our family and friends to Identity theft. My husband and I both work for a company that services the Social Security Administration Information Technology so we know all the rules about handling personally identifiable information. What can you suggest as the best way to handle the Letters from friends and families? Has anybody thought about this issue? Should we ask our family and friends to send their letter directly to USCIS with instructions to put down what information on how to relate their letter to our I-751 application? I am also afraid that the letter will go to the wrong hands. Any suggestion that you know that is also acceptable to USCIS ? Like maybe including a contact number so the USCIS officer can contact them directly in order to get the information from them directly?

I hope you can give any info that might solve the issue I mentioned above. I feel my issue about personally identifiable information is a valid one to be worried about in this day and age unfortunately. What do you think?

The affidavits letters don't need to have the SSN !!!

I dont see anywhere that states anyting about SSN? I never put them on. And one doesnt have to include affidavits from friends/family. Best of luck

You don't need to add that kind of information. Have they still go that on the VJ guides?! I didn't get the letters notarized either. I just asked them to provide their full name and address. It worked OK for me with the other evidence I had.

You absolutely do not need to put that kind of information on your letters. Actually, you can choose not to send them if you want. I did send 2 letters...but opted not to get them notarized. I guess I will see what happens once I hear back from them.

It pretty clearly states on the I751 form instructions what is needed regarding the affidavits and what not. SSNs are not required.
