Processing time for i-130

My daughter just got approved for I-130 under 21 child. She lives in Barbados. Do anyone knows the processing time for a visa?

I am in the process of becoming a USA citizen. After I become one I plan to update her application.

Since I will be a citizen can I apply for her a k1 visa ?

As a child of an LPR under the F2A preference, she would need to wait for her priority date to become current before her visa could be issued. The wait time is currently around 18 months from the date of filing the I-130.

After you become a US citizen you can then upgrade your petition. The exact nature of the upgrade will depend upon how old your daughter is on the day you naturalise. If she is still under 21 on that day then the petition can be upgraded to an immediate relative petition, so there would be no further waiting for a visa number since they are always available. If she was already 21 on the day you became a US citizen then you'd only be able to upgrade the petition from F2A to F1. F1 actually has a longer waiting period (around 7 and a half years), but you can elect to opt-out of this category change (which would add several years to your daughter's waiting time in this case).

A K-1 visa is not applicable here because they are for alien fiancé/es of US citizens, not children.

She got approved in November 2015. So the waiting time will be 18 months after this approval ?

I did the priority cut off date checker it says September 2014 cut off date. I'm a bit confused. Is that the date u applied or the date u got approved. So their processing applications from that time period that got approved ?

Look on any of your I-130 Notices of Action for the Priority Date.

Right now, they are processing Priority Dates from September 2014 for immigrant visas under F2A.

When the Priority Date listed for F2A rolls around to whenever yours is (and again, look on your NOA for that) then your daughter will be able to move on in the process.

The Priority Date is the date you applied.

I'm not sure if I'm asking the question correctly.

I applied in September of 2014. Her application for I-130 child under 21 of a permanent resident got approved in November of 2015.

After her approval in November 2015. How long after that do she wait to get the visa?

I've seen in some forum it can take years after an approval. To get a visa.

If you applied in September 2014 and they are currently processing F2A from September 2014, then you should already be in contact with the NVC (or rather, they should have contacted you).

Thank you so much for all your help. I have one last question. Would NVC send the notice for the visa process letter to my daughter or to me. She lives in Barbados so I wanted to tell her to look out for it but I want sure if she would be getting any mail.

Unsure since I've never done it. You should certainly call the NVC and ask what's going on though.
