My husband has a job offer in Saudi Arabia. He is now in Jordan. We filed all our stuff in Nov I and Dec 129. I got the first NOA for both (DEC and Jan) and we still are waiting for the second. I thought that as long as he gets back for the interview, it doesn't matter what country he is working in.

My friend thought he had to stay put in Jordan till it is all done.

Anyone know?????

and yes to heck with it.....I am posting this in two places :diablo:

Why not? Do you think the immigration process to the US prevents someone from earning money for a living or being able to travel to another country?

YMMV

I think he'll be fine but he'll probably have to show proof of why he was in another country and possibly show a police certificate stating that he didn't get into trouble whilst there. Don't mark my words on it as this is only my assumption. I definitely recommend researching more...good luck.

Interview-December 2005

Visa approved-December 2005, 1 week later after supplying "more information"

Definitely he can. But depending on how long he stays, it may mean he has to obtain a Saudi police certificate for the interview. And the consulate will definitely want to know of his travels, the reason for such, etc.

Traveling to other ME/NA countries, especially for work, is very common in this area. However, some of our members have been/are still being put through excruciating extra security checks because of such travel. Just be aware of that, document the employment, and be ready to answer detailed questions.

What they said.. and then he will have to come back to Amman for anything he has to do like the interview. I asked about this same thing because my husband was thinking about teaching in the Netherlands, but he didn't... anyway, it's fine. He'll need the police certificate if he stays there over 6 months, and then he'll just have to return for his interview.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.
