Need 1-551 Stamp But No InfoPass Appts Available?

hi all,

I posted recently asking about what to do since my application is still in process but my 1 year extension has expired. I have to travel for work on April 11 so I am desperately trying to figure out what I need to do to travel. Someone suggested going to my field office for an Infopass appointment to get an I-551 stamp. When I went on to Infopass though, there are zero dates available through the end of March. What do I do?

Any ideas? Thank you!

Kate

You need the I551 stamp if your 1 year extension has expired and the only way to get this stamp is to schedule an infoPass appointment. Try searching for offices in other locations.

@teeak - so I can go to any office anywhere (doesn't need to be in my area/state?) Let me know - thank you!!

Kate

Yeah, if there aren't any available appointments in your area, you can schedule one in another place. If they say anything, you can just say that its an emergency and you need the stamp before your trip (just explain the situation). They should be fine with it since you'll have already scheduled it and its not a walk-in.
