Even though our case was marked as complete, I just received a checklist from NVC. Luckily, they've just asked to bring the documents to the interview so it works out.

I knew this could trigger a checklist, but I still decided to listen to my lawyer. He had asked me to attach my 2015 W2, when I hadn't even filed my taxes. I told him, it would trigger a checklist, and he said, no he does it all the time. Anyways, I still attached all the transcripts from 2014, 2013 and 2012.

I agree, you searched a "little" bit.

NO more than two joint sponsors.

Read the I-864 instructions, page 12 under What is a joint sponsor?

According to your timeline you do not have an interview date yet, more than likely it will be few months way pass April 15, (TAX DAY).

You did not say what your checklist said. but:

1. File your 2015 taxes, get a transcript and fill out a new I-864 with 2015 tax information and bring them to interview. (Bring copy of 2015 and W2 if no transcript)

or

2. File a 2015 extension and bring all your 2015 W2s and last 6 months of pay stubs for 2016 to interview

Hi Frank,

Thank you for the response. I'm good there, I have filed 2015, and already received transcript as well. I was just sharing the story for other people's reference.

People on this forum know how useless attorneys are for simple cases. This is a reminder that this forum equips you with more information, and you see more cases than an attorney will see in his lifetime. Therefore, if you are like me where you may have hired an attorney before you knew about this forum, trust your judgement more than the attorney.

p.s. I probably won't see my interview that early, I'm thinking late may or early June

No. When you send your AOS and IV package to NVC and is received from the postal service and scan into their system that date will be your scan date.

Good luck
