i called and got my case#.

Just finished the D261. But why I can not pay Aos fee?

Did you just get your case # & IIN? If so, they may not have invoiced the AOS fee yet. When you called for your Case # and IIN, did you provide them with your email address? If so, you'll get an email "welcome" letter from NVC. You will definitely see the AOS fee once you get that. You can call NVC to have them review your DS-261 over the phone which will save you weeks of waiting for them to get around to reviewing it on their own.

For me, I completed the DS-261 the same evening they assigned the Case # and IIN...the AOS fee kept giving me an error. Turns out they were in the process of invoicing it. The next morning I called asking for them to review the DS-261 over the phone. I was told they couldn't review it with me as it wasn't "sent to" me yet. an hour later, I got the welcome letter. I logged back in and saw the AOS fee was invoiced. Then called NVC again and they were able to review the DS-261 over the phone. Once that was reviewed, less than 24 hours later the IV fee was also invoiced.

I hope that made sense.

I would still try to login later tonight and see if the fee is there. It may have been a coincidence that the AOS fee was invoiced after the welcome email was sent to me.

I don't know about China. Maybe other members from China can guide you better about that. If your interview happens after the PCC expires, i'm pretty confident that they will ask you for an updated one.

For India the PCC is valid for 1 year. My husband got his in September. I'm hoping his interview will be in May.

Hi all..I didn't find VJ until after I already submitted my I-130 petition so I didn't know anything about front loading. I need validation on what i'm doing with the Proof of Relationship file that i'm building for my husband to take with him to his interview. I've had one person confirm (thank you LoveinGhana! what would I do without you?!?) but my nerves are getting the best of me and need more validation. I've been following their instructions and only sending what they required which means other than a marriage certificate, they don't have any Proof of Relationship for us. So here's what I have in my file so far:

• Flight information for my entire family (parents, brother + his wife and kids) that flew to India for our wedding.
• Emails
• Flight itineraries showing our trip to Dubai for 2 weeks together.
• Money/Wire transfers I've sent him since our wedding (more than $500) -- if it was less than that i wouldn't bother including it.
• approximately 15 Pictures from the wedding that include just us, us with my family, us with his family, us with friends
• approximately 10 pictures from our trip to Dubai together
• WhatsApp chat from May 2015 to present.
• WhatsApp call log screen shots for the last month or so (I didn't realize till last month that WhatsApp only keeps 1 month of call log records at a time. )
• Skype video screen shot
• He will add pictures of the gifts I've sent him + cards I've mailed him

Do you think the above documents are enough to prove our relationship is still bonafide?

I emailed the Whatsapp Chat record to myself and it's come out to more than 3500 pages!!! there's no way I can print all of that and send it all to him. If I email it to him to print, he would have to go to an internet cafe and spend hours and money printing. Is it safe to just pick random dates for the chat and print about 10 pages from each month?

The one month of February WhatsApp call log is already 12 pages long -- that's with me putting 4 screen shots on one page. Do you think they will ask about the previous months?

I know they are probably not going to go through each page and read/check everything, but i'd rather have more evidence than not have enough.

You're probably also wondering why i'm doing it and mailing it to him versus emailing everything to him for him to put together.......Well that's where my OCD comes in. I want to organize everything for him in the way that they want it and easy for him to give to them. So I'm going to get an Accordion File Folder, put tabs labeling every pocket and send to him so he can place his documents in the section that it's supposed to be in (original + copies). That way when he gets to the consulate everything is already in order when the first consular checks.

I appreciate your experience and value your opinion.

Are you sure you just sent a marriage certificate? Or you added ONE of the following: joint ownership of property, co-mingling of financial resources, sworn affidavits.

2. What you listed and have ready to present at the interview is considered other relevant documentation is sufficient to satisfy any doubts from the CO.

Hi Kelly,

The Police Certificate has to be less than one year old at the time of the interview. If it has only been 6 months since your husband got the police certificate, you may choose to submit it to the NVC but be aware that if the police certificate is more than one year old at the time of his interview, he will need to get a new police certificate and take that with him to his interview. Alternatively, you may just choose for him to get a new police certificate right now and submit that to the NVC.

Check this NVC webpage for 'Supporting Documents'. Under 'Police Certificates', it states:

Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

• You are more than 16 years old;
• The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and
• You still live in the country that issued the certificate.

Yes, sir. I only sent my marriage certificate. I double and triple checked with our immigration attorney about it. He's been doing this over 20 years. He said since we had JUST gotten married 2 weeks before filing, I don't have anything to show as a bonafide marriage. He said "what would a sworn affidavit from someone say at this point, 'yes, i attended their wedding and they are still married 2 weeks later?'" Since he's still in India, we don't have any property together yet andI haven't added him to my bank accounts or anything.

I only sent what they asked for as per the I-130 instructions for Proof of Relationship: marriage certificate, passport size photos of both of us, G-325a for each of us. Nothing extra. He also mentioned that those that have been married for months or years and then applying for I-130 must show more proof from the start, but since I just got married, i would be ok with just what i was sending. Turns out he was right. He did emphasize that i would have to shows lots of proof for the interview which is what i'm working on now.

Thank you so much, I will have everything ready for my husband to take with him to his interview.

I am glad it worked out for you because the instructions are very clear about having at least ONE of the listed items besides marriage certificate.

Perhaps USCIS is flexible on recent marriages, and your experienced lawyer advised you correctly.

Any ways, that part of the storm is over and you did not get an RFE.

I believe you are in pretty good shape and well prepared for what ever is coming.

I think you will get your CC on the last week of March, I have following many timelines and CC is taken around 28 to 32 working days.
