Hee hee yes!!we are 5 days to medical and 11 to interview... I am excited!!! I don't feel nervous yet though thankfully! Lol I will surely be watching what happens to you guys though!!!

It will be interesting to see how the changes in the K1 not being processed anymore in Vancouver and now only Montreal will be for K1 like IR1/CR1. Looks like maybe fewer slots. hmmmm

Yes its normal. My wife and son went for their interview on the 17th of March. The ceac website has been on Administrative Processing ever since then. On the 24th of March, it became issued. I even got an email from the embassy that the visas are ready to be picked up on April 1st 2016. It goes like this:

Ready--Administrative Processing--Issued.

My wife and son went for their interview on the 17th of March, 2016 at the Lagos embassy. It was approved, but the Consular officer ask my wife to provide my 2015 Tax returns. My wife told her she doesn't have it, but she has my 2015 W-2 and my pay stubs for the last 6 months. Guess what, he still insist that my wife should inform me to file for my 2015 Tax return. He gave my wife back her passport, and told her to drop off the 2015 Tax return, an update I-864 AOS and her passport to the visa collection center as soon as she gets all this 3 items available. My wife called me immediately she left the embassy. I quickly file for the 2015 Tax Returns, completed another 2 sets of AOS for my wife and son. I scanned it to her email address. She printed it out that same day, but took it to the visa section the next day 18th of March. My case was kept on Administrative Processing ever since she submitted those documents. On the 24th of March, it went from Administrative Processing to Issued. I also got an email from the embassy in Lagos that their visas are ready to be picked up on April 1st. I'm so happy. My sons birthday is April 10th and so, he will celebrate his 5th birthday in the U.S. Thanks to everyone of u for all the wealth of information's in this forum. I learnt alot. And thank you for sharing that information. I'm hoping to get my 2015 taxes done within the next couple of weeks then I'll send it off to my husband in time for his interview. Not taking any chances with Lagos embassy lol..

Well I only live an hour's drive from the border, and I had my car packed up and ready to go.

I drove across into Detroit through the tunnel and the officer at the outside booth was quite rude, but I'm pretty used to that there. Once I was inside at secondary inspection it was ok. The CO helping me had never done one before so he was asking another officer how to do things. They also used mine for training for others. He asked me a few questions and it took about a half hour. Everything that I sent CIS and NVC was in the packet mailed to me. Overall the process was fine, but I hardly ever see any smiles in Detroit.

No I wasn't ask. The consular officer ask my wife if my son was my biological child. My wife says yes. That was it.

Were you by chance close to the poverty guidelines? Most times when people are very close to the lie for them or their sponsor they want to see current year done. I know people are fixated on April 15th filing. But really when March 1st hits many embassies start asking. And yes they can hold you up in AP until you file your taxes. I have even seen AP for those who had o amend because they filed single (rare but every CO is different)

For may of us who are just weeks or months from spouse getting here I strongly suggest just filing an extension print off your tax forms, update the Affidavit of Support and have your W2 attach just in case.

Lol..thanks. I dont blame u if u do that. Mine was just a narrow escape. It's a lesson for everyone to learn from. Lagos embassy is full of issues. U should be fine tho. Gods speed.
