I hand over birth cert. Marriage cert. And my cert. Of conduct.

The really nice lady took fingerprints and told me to wait.

i been called back about 25 minutes later and the consul also a really friendly girl guess 26-28 years of age.

where did u merried?

why twice? Had registrated partnership in the netherlands so i told her its because reg. Partnership is not a legal thing in the usa.

what would u like to do when u are in the usa?

after all these questions she sayed oke i will approve you a visum and u can expect it in 3 to 4 workdays by mail.

did not had to show her anything no photo's, no 2015 financials nothing.

after i when't in to the city with my mum and celebrated it at the mac donalds with a nice warm cappucino :) we walked over the market and went back home. I am over the top happy and releaved that it went smooth.

All of you with recent visa approvals, remember to check the bottom of Dwheels76 first post in this forum/topic if you want to learn to be able to track the progress of your green card issuance after you pass by a POE. You need to open an ELIS account first, then pay the immigrant fee then your case will be loaded to your ELIS account for further tracking.

My Montreal peeps still waiting - My husband just called and he said his medical in Montreal went really well this afternoon. They took all 5 of his passport pictures, it took almost 2.5 hours because he said they were slammed with people. He said all the doctors were beyond friendly and nice and he only had to get a Flu shot and a tetanus shot. One flu shot was $25 and the other $40, so it cost $400 in total. They joked about his tattoos and that they must of hurt a lot. They told him everything will be ready 3/22 and that he can pick up his records next Wednesday morning no problem. One major step down, now to just get to Montreal and hear that approval!! :) T-minus 7 days!

My appointment was at 1pm. They only let me in at 12:55. The security took my phone to save it in their box.The embassy was only opened in the afternoon for Us citizen, Family visa and fiance. It was only 11 of us waiting. They called me at the first window at 1:30pm to submit my interview letter and told me to sit and wait again for my number to be called.

They called me a second time at 2:30 to collect my original documents. The lady (very nice by the way) asked me for my DS260 confirmation. As soon as I gave it to her, I mentioned the mistake I made on my DS260. She told me this is the right moment to do so. She said "I can't modify it, but I can put a note to indicate the correct date". I brought a corrected form so she could see where to do the modification (instead of 2009, I had indicated 2004 on the residence question).

Then, she asked me for the certified copy of my birth certificate, certified copy of my wedding certificate and certified copy of my police certificate.

For my wedding certificate, she just wanted to see the original. She didn't check the date on it, so I was very relieved. If you recalled, I was worried they could request a recent wedding certificate.

Then she asked me if I had a copy of my social security card, I told her no. She asked me when did I obtain it and I told her when I went to study in 2009. She said that in those cards there is a note on it that says you can work in the US only with authorization and I need to have a new card since I have a new status. So she requested a new one for me (when I went home, I realized she was right, it was indicated : Valid for Word only with DHS authorization'0. She told me that if my visa is approved I will receive my passport and a sealed envelop. Then I waited again 5 minute to be interviewed.

The lady made me swear and asked me:

  • How did we meet?
  • When and where did you get married?
  • Who attend your wedding?
  • What does your husband do in life? How long has he been in his company?

At the end, she said everything looks fine. I asked to be sure ' Am I approved'. She said 'yes' and she explained that I will receive my visa in 10 days and to not book any flight before I received it.

We did it !! After all this time, I was soo happy, I will finally see my husband after 1 year and 3 months without seeing each other. :dancing:

Sounds good. Man $400 though. Yikes. 7 days. Can't believe tomorrow is already Friday. We are 41 days and counting. And it's going fast.

My husband picked out the fabric at the market for us to get our outfits made. We will be so hawt!! :goofy:

Hey dweels76 and everyone else thanks for your support in this lifetime journey!!! And concrats to those who got approval today!!!.

my story,

i arrived at the embassy in the netherlands at 12:30 an hour early.

There where allready people lining up and non of them were let in the building.

At 13:10 hour they let me in in the building and some were refused because of u guessed it CELLPHONES so please leave those things home or come with someone that can hold it. One guy dropped his phone in a nearby cafe.

well once inside i whent true security and showed my inventation letter and they told me to wait at window nr 5

i was the first in out of 5 :)

I hand over birth cert. Marriage cert. And my cert. Of conduct.

The really nice lady took fingerprints and told me to wait.

i been called back about 25 minutes later and the consul also a really friendly girl guess 26-28 years of age.

asked me,

where did u meet?

how does his perents like yours? And how does your parents like them?

what kind of work does your husband?

is he here or in the usa?

where did u merried?

I am over the top happy and releaved that it went smooth.

for those relax it is all really formal and bussness as usual.

It went better then i thought.

i was super well prepared because of vj so no need to stress out everything nice sorted in a map

thnx fellow vjrs

Wow it sounds like things went super well!! Congratulations and I am so happy for you finally being able for you two to be together!!!

:dancing:

Love this review. Seems like a painless ordeal. We have to correct the DS-26 also. Me and my noodle head. hehe

Woohoo! Another day closer (:

Did your husband bring a vaccine record? My husband can't get a copy of his because Quebec told him it would be at least 30 days to receive a copy -.- (Quebec makes things difficult sometimes!) But he went to school here and in Florida, so he has had tons of vaccines, and the US consulate site said that the doctor would wok with you to decide what you needed etc.
