Fedex was fast for us. Sent out Friday and was there Monday.

With "normal" mail it takes about 7 weekdays from us to where i live.

The Embassy finally gave us our new interview date! Wednesday, March 16th it is! ! Today is me and my hubby's birthday so that was a nice surprise!!

Im really excited but a little worried at the same time ... One of the requirements for the interview on the email we just received today was the petitioners original Birth Certificate .. I really thought they will not need it but now hubby needs to send me that .. *sigh* Can anyone please tell me what is the fastest international airmail delivery service???

You are fine. The problem is when you file with the wrong civil status after marriage within same year.

Every body married after Dec 31 2014, submitting 2014 tax returns is OK.

The problem is for those who filed 2015 tax return as SINGLE and became married as late as Dec 31 2015.

Note: We are getting close to April 15 2016, so a lot of people will have to update I-864 with 2015 tax returns.

No they had Case Complete since 9/27. Ethiopia is just very backlogged. Many of the countries in East Africa are dealing with the refugee issue and other countries are taking priority. It's a waiting game. Like Algeria (7 months and still waiting). Egypt taking 4 to 5 months for interview to be assigned.

In this case, when someone hasn't file out yet his taxes for 2015, can we justify by showing only the 2015 W2 (I will of course have a new I-864 sign just in case).

Not if your interview is after April 18th (yes you get until the 18th since 15th is on a friday). You need to either file or file an extension.

And I have seen in the previous years embassies (all over the place) putting people in AP until they file current year and submit to embassy. With it getting so close who knows. It seems it's usually an issue for those who have joint sponsors and those who were very close to the poverty line (they made enough but it's shaky).

So it's a roll the dice type thing whether they ask or not.

what is the most recent CC (and what is the corresponding scan date)??

I've noticed that the NVC still handling cases which their scan date in January?

Some people take longer to be reviewed. Some people you see in January have had checklist (some don;t tell that). Also you will notice on spreadsheet how there are countries in batches getting CC. Like 3 yesterday for Jamaica. Some reps who adjudicate may be faster or slower who knows.

A quick update on our cases;

Case complete: Feb 12th

Interview scheduled: Feb 24th - Interview April 26th

Emailed expedite request : Feb 26th (Reason_The effects of the Cyclone that hit Fiji)

Visa Status show "In Transit" : Feb 29th

Visa Status show "Ready" : March 2nd

Medicals Completed: March 7th

Waiting on the Embassy to assign our new interview date *crossing all toes and fingers for a March interview*

I've been following this thread for some time, but have been silent throughout. Great information and feedback from everyone on here so thank you!

I just checked my case status online as I normally do (4-5 times a day lol) and I just saw 3 N/As! The N/A under the AOS fee is greyed out which I assume is what it should look like? Either way I'm excited, my husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary yesterday so if case is indeed complete it makes for a great anniversary present

I'm going to call NVC a little later to confirm, but my scan date is Feb 5th... fyi for others that are waiting.

I am going to charge for this one...LOL. It took me some guessing to figure this out. No one at USCIS website bothered to explain how to make it work.

NO NEED FOR ACCESS CODE, that is for other procedures like getting a copy of a green card, etc.

1. Create the ELIS account as I explained before.

2. Go here: https://www.uscis.gov/file-online/log-online-filing

3. Click to pay the USCIS immigrant fee icon.

4.Click "continue" at the bottom.

5.Enter the Alien Number and the NVC or DOS case number, go on with the payment. Use the same email you used on the ELIS account.(this is the key)

6. You will get an email confirming your payment.

7. When you log again on the ELIS account, you will see your case number. (It is added automatically).
