No problem. That's what we call mandatory AP. I would imagine because of the country he is in. Abit of unrest around there. So probably extra security checks. Could be a few days to weeks. So hang on a bit longer.

yes Co took only one passport size pic from him n gave his passport back. Hoping and praying for some good news in a days or weeks. Thanks again dwheels76.

Hi, all

So i´m now ready to share what happen at the Embassy and my Interview.

I was there 08:00 and got it 15 min after.

I was the first in line and only in line at the time.

I went to all the security stuff. WOW it´s a big Embassy!!

I came inside and went to the window, at that time i was thinking "all is fine, i have all my papers"

I was then asked for:

Passport

MC

BC his and her (And there was the problem.)

Chat log

Pictures

JS AOS and financial papers

Military Papers

Waiver of old GC

As i said, BC (My bc) was the problem, i somehow left it at home, with some other papers in a "backup" folder.

So i was told to sit back down, they looked over my papers and called me back to another window.

Here i got my fingerprints taken and was asked:

Where did you meet your wife?

Why was she in Denmark?

What does she do for living?

What will you do for living?

What about your kids?

That was it.

I was then put in AP - the 221(g) and was told they need to have the BC for them to approve my case.

The last thing i was told was that i had to mail it to them and when they got my paper, they will do my passport and mail it to my in the Envelop that i addressed to my self as the first thing after handing in papers.

Today i mailed the my BC and they will have it in hand Friday or Monday.

So that´s where i´m with the case so fare.

I am sorry about that. But good thing, they are just waiting for the birth certificate and you should have your visa in hand soon. Stay positive. You had to rush to prepare all the documents. Errors and forgetting stuff happened to everybody.

I am worried myself, because I had to inform the embassy during the interview that I made two mistakes on the dates. Instead of putting I was in the US in 2009, I put 2004.

And we got married in the Bahamas, the administration is slow there. Took us 4 months to obtain our wedding certificate after we got married.

And now for the interview, the US Embassy in Paris requires a wedding certificate of less than 3 months for some cases. My husband applied for it in December and we still havent received it. So I wonder if they will be ok with a certified copy of last year or if they will put us in AP-221. :crying:

Certified copy is fine. Original or certified so you are good.

You already notified embassy of error?

You already had interview? I'm confused.

You already had interview? I'm confused.

Sorry for the confusion, I mean I have to inform**.

My interview is March 17th.

The US Embassy in Paris requires a Certified copy of my wedding certificate of less than 3 months (they indicates : for some cases, we requires a certified copy of less than 3 months).

But the certified copy we have, is beginning of 2015.

We have requested a new one to the Bahamas in December but we are still waiting to receive it.

No they won't question why you completed your own I-864. But I would just have lawyer reprint and resign. Probably alot easier no refilling or errors to worry about.

Haha you would think it would be that easy, not with this guy. I just emailed him so hopefully it doesn't take him 2 weeks to respond. If worse comes to worse it is good to know I can fill it out myself and we will be ok. :) Thanks girl!

Now i can sit down and rest a bit.

I just need to make new papers for the ppl renting my apartment, the management turn the first down... :(

I'm sorry this happened to you Soeren. Like someone else said, you had an unusual situation where your date changed last minute and you had to have everything ready in a rush and under these circumstances, it is human to err. You will receive the visa soon, take this time to tie loose ends and have it all ready for when the visa comes.

I'm happy to inform that my husband is in US soil now!! More specific, he is at home :dancing: Wohoo!!! it is all surreal to me as he arrived last night via NY - JFK Airport.

Something interesting to report: so I got him prepared to deal with his POE at JFK, I read reviews, even check logistics at terminal 5 and all. I myself was prepared to wait for him at best one hour to two hours as he cleared immigration and customs (JFK is a very busy airport). But there was something unexpected:

He flew from Rome with a layover in Dublin, Ireland. So apparently, there is an agreement between the US and Ireland where you can clear customs and Immigration there before arriving to the US ( I had only heard of this in England). So his POE was officially Dublin and not JFK! He was the only one in the room where they took in his IV packet and passport. They asked him to verify the US address to send in the Green card to, they asked him who lives in NJ? (me of course); they showed him a screenshot of his luggage and was asked to verify it was his, they took his biometrics, stamped his passport, and then sent him off to his gate and board his flight to NY. He said, all and in all it took about 15 mins. He also says, the US has a special place/office within Dublin airport where you have to go through a second layer of security, this is where the POE activity took place for him.

I was surprised to hear all of this but also happy because once hubby arrived to JFK, all he had to do was go straight to the baggage carrousel to pick up is baggage. It was only by coincidence that I found him there as I was thinking I was way too early to pick him up and started roaming the arrivals area only to see him waiting for his baggage lol. Thankfully, he was only there a minute or two before we found each other.

Congratulation to you both. You must be so happy to have him home.

I always flew to the US through Dublin. There is not a lot of plane going to the US, so there is less queue there for custom and I love flying with Aer Lingus, price are cheap too.

Congratulation to you both. You must be so happy to have him home.

I always flew to the US through Dublin. There is not a lot of plane going to the US, so there is less queue there for custom and I love flying with Aer Lingus, price are cheap too.

Thank you! Im beyond happy :goofy:

And that is exactly right, Ireland was one of the best options for us price wise and travel time wise. I had also flown Aer Lingus on my first trip to Europe a few years back and I really liked it, they are low priced but the service is good.
