Quick question for anyone who done an interview in Jamaica recently or know anyone who has.At the time of my interview my clean record will be 8 months old. Will I need to get a new one? Should I stay on the safe side and get a new one? We don't want to spend unnecessarily because we are on a tight budget.

If you are talking about police record, as long as it's not a year old your are ok. Police records are valid for a year so getting a new one is a waste of time and money.

All this joyous happiness got me feeling better. Congratulations to all the Interviews assigned. Especially Jamaica, Egypt and Ghana who have had quite the wait. We are almost done with people still with 2015 CC. Hopefully being resolved soon.

I am thrilled for everyone. Once you get off your Interview high please prepare. Get your ducks in a row.

you should have for interview:

1. copy of your AOS financial package you sent to NVC. Now add 2015 financials with NEW I864 (this is for you and joint sponsor if applicable). This is for anyone having an interview going forward. I have already seen a few 221g this last week for people to turn n 2015. So prepare now.

2. All Originals submitted to USCIS (YES I said it) and NVC. 221g's have been given out for Petitioners divorce decree. I have 3 of mine certified. I sent one to USCIS, One to NVC and have for interview. I am not playin.

3. This is the time to show off your artsy self yes you can bring that big old album full of memories and pictures. Why not. Just make sure pictures are easy to take out if CO wants a closer look. Many embassies have the big old glass like at a bank.

4. You should b ringing your up to date chats, IM's, emails, chat logs since when you filed (just in case they ask).

5. Eat a breakfast, Rest, relax. Be calm. This is the Green Nile. The embassy CO's do not hate you or don't want you in US. Most bend over backwards to accomodate and get you that Visa. So meet them half way. (No this is not an advertisement for CO's). LOL

Thank you for this information Dwheels! It's very helpful. I didn't know a new i864 needed to be filled out.

Does anyone know if we have to pay any fees during or after the interview?

None at the interview, but you have to pay $165 immigrant fee before or after entering USA in order to receive green card.

Read bottom of first post.

Thanks cosmos for the kindness! Did you happen to get your review up yet? (:

I tired 4 different times to write it and every time it tells me "you must be registered first" to write a review. I am not sure what I am missing or doing wrong. I can send you a personal message with exactly how things went, questions asked etc if you like. :)

We just received our tracking number via email for visa! It should hopefully arrive end of week or Monday! :dancing:

Huh, so strange it is doing that to you! I was mostly curious about what documents they asked for and what questions they asked?

I know my poor husband is worried about the interview... mainly because he overstayed a TD visa at 19 because his dad 'forgot' to renew them ): our lawyer says it should be no big deal since his dad is at fault and my husband has entered the US since, however we can't help but fret. ):

Here is a list of documents they asked my husband for and questions asked. I was able to sit with him the entire time and our appointment was at 8:00am, we arrived at 7:15am and we were out of there at 8:45am and eating breakfast by 9am. :)

Documents asked for at the first window (in no particular order):

1. Original Birth certificate

2. Original police clearance record

3. Original marriage license

4. Original AOS

5. My Original divorce decree

6. W2's and tax transcripts for 2014. They said if he had my 2015 taxes they would take that as well, which I did. So they also got my 2015 tax return and tax transcripts

7. Passport and passport photos

They never asked for our DS260 confirmation page.

Questions asked (in no particular order):

1. Where did you meet your wife?

2. How often do you see your wife? (My husband said she is actually in the waiting room), so then he asked "When was the last time you saw your wife besides this morning?"

3. Where does your wife work and what does she do for work?

4. Any of your relatives live in USA?

5. Any issues crossing border?

6. What do you do for work?

7. Has your wife been married before?

8. Where will you be living in the USA?

9. Ever live anywhere else besides Canada?

And that was it. "Welcome to the USA". They didn't ask to see any supporting documents like photos, chat logs, travel receipts etc. We were way over prepared but I am glad we were over prepared than under. :) He said he had a very nice CO, laid back and in his mid thirties or so. Hope this helps.

P.S the elevator was broken, so they were taking people in groups of 10 up the service elevator, which took forever! We literally walked into the room while they were calling our number to the first window. I think that actually helped because my husband didn't even have time to get nervous. But if we were 5 seconds later we would of missed our number!

Thank you so much Cosmos! Really happy you guys were approved and all went well!

Did you E-file, I did not, so I don't think there will be a request for the "original" I-864 since they have em, correct?

Also do you recommend I go ahead and put all of the assumed items together? Or have them in separate slots in my accordion folder?
