we sent an email to csc but they responded with a standard "you need to call ncsc first". We sent the letter notarized with a copy of noa1 and with tracking number to po box csc and it arrived 9/10 days ago. do you think we should call to

It didn't seem to do any good to call. I would wait the 30 days first.

No problem:

USCIS

California Service Center

P.O. Box 30111

Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-0111

I wouldn't worry too much. It takes a good chunk of time to get an approval, I expect the same for withdraw. I understand that's easier said than done, as a check my status every few days. I'm days away from what my timeline estimates my NOA2 to be. I'm hoping they're processing my withdraw and I don't get an approval notice instead.

Why not just go through with the K1, get married in the US and move to Brazil? Worst case scenario you're going to cancel a K1 visa and a denied tourist visa.

I wanted to go ahead and give an update on my situation in case anyone else finds themselves in a similar position in the future and is looking for answers. We ended up canceling our K-1 application and my fiance had no issues arriving in the US. He wasn't questioned about the application or the withdrawal or our marriage plans. So, in the end, we were able to maintain his tourist visa, get married in the US and will return to Brazil together with no problems. Of course, you never know what questions you'll be asked at POE, so our experience might not be typical, but hopefully it provides some insight to anyone in a similar situation. Also, he arrived in the US with a ton of documents proving both his intention to return to Brazil and my intention to move to Brazil.
