Hello, We applied for removal of conditions last November. We've already been to the application support center for the biometric reading, but I wanted to check on the status of our case. So today I went to USCIS' "My Case Status" page and entered the receipt number from the I-751 receipt notice, and it didn't recognize the receipt number I had entered. So I double checked and reentered the number making sure to not include the dashes, and still nothing. I call the automated phone number enter the receipt number again and still it is not recognized.

Now I realize from checking on the processing times that I still likely have several months until the application is approved, but I am slightly worried that the USCIS doesn't recognize the receipt number that they sent me. I don't have the letters assigning a time for the biometric readings with me but is it possible that those would have a new receipt number that I would use to check my case status with?

It only means that they didn't get around to entering your case in the system. It happened to our waiver. It took 90 days for us to be able to check...and only after several calls to the USCIS and an expedite request. They Are slow. Not much you Can do but wait

With ROC you need the receipt number from your biometric notice, NOT the one on your NOA1.

1) Use the tracking number on your biometrics letter. God knows why but they have two tracking numbers for I751s, the number on your one year extension letter does not show up on the system. Use the biometric letter number when you call the service center also.

2) You filed at Vermont service center in November, if they continue with their current speed, you will hear something around September. Don't freak out, that's the way it is with VSC.

OK, what exactly is the "case number" or "receipt number" on the biometrics form. There is nothing on the form with that label.

There are two numbers/code in the box called Application/Petition/Request Number

There is a Case Type code

There is the USCIS A#

Next to that is a box labeled CODE, with the cryptic contents of "3"

There is a box called Account Number, but that box is empty

Next to it is another empty box labeled TCR

Down toward the bottom there are two bar codes with captions that repeat the numbers in the Application/Petition/Request Number box.

So, what exactly are the codes that are needed from this form?

The two numbers given in the "application/petition/request number" box are what people mean by receipt number or case number. One of them is only given on the biometric letter and will be useful for tracking your case online or when you call the customer service, the other one appears both on the biometric letter and the NOA one year extension letter and is pretty much useless for us but meant for USCIS internal use.

Depending on where you filed, those numbers will either start with EAC for Vermont Service Center, or WAC for California Service Center, and followed by a 10-digit number.
