Preparing for visa interview for self and parents

Hello

I am a 21 years old unmarried female from India. I am currently in the first year of my Msc(2 year course). I along with my parents have a visitor visa appointment at mumbai embassy on 21st march. My parents have their own business here in india. We wish to visit my elder sister and her husband living in san jose. Our trip will be sponsored by my sister's husband. How strong are the chances of us getting the visa? What documents should i carry to support our case?

there is no sponsorship for a visitor visa, I am not sure where people get this idea. You must apply and be approved on your own merits, and your merits ALONE. Period.

Every day I see people on this site say they have a sponsor for visitor visa, and it simply is not an option.

I consider, parents have better chance than yourself. Please carry all the supporting documents for the interview and answer questions clearly that you can provide evidence for, when asked during the interview. I suggest, your parents to carry their financial information/documentation (if you can get necessary tax, property, business documents and/or documents attested by a Chartered Accountant etc.). It's better to support yourself than someone else sponsoring (in this case your relative is sponsoring three people plus he is responsible for your sister as dependent).

And, for yourself, it is tricky given your age but I suggest be confident and carry documentation that supports your claim that your purpose is only tourism.

There's a lot of websites, particularly Indian ones, that give a lot of gobbledegook about documents needed for tourist interviews.

Usually with an offer to help with said documents, for a small fee.

I-134s, invitation letters, notarised promises from US relatives, specific amounts of cash to have in a bank account, letters from various public officials, US relatives tax records and pay stubs.

All described as being essential to 'guarantee' a tourist visa approval.

People would rather believe a lie that gives them hope than the hard truth.

I don't doubt it.

I'm actually impressed how this site is so steadfast in adhering to rules about discussing dodgy immigration routes.

I'd imagine that if they were to allow posters to give advice on illegal immigration then the sites traffic would increase a thousand times over.

I think she means to say that their trip will be financed by her relative in the US?
