Visiting while awaiting K1

Hi guys,

Looking for some reassure here. I'm starting to overly worry about my visit to the US in 2 weeks. My fiancé and I are awaiting our K1 visa, we had our NOA1 on January 25th and I am visiting the USA on the VWP. I have so many ties to the UK, I have an apartment I'm renting and have payments until June, I am a university student so have documentation proving that, im even attending a sporting event in London a few days after my return and have a ticket for that, which as rather expensive, was originally going for 6 weeks, but decided to go for 2 weeks due to university, so booked a return flight with a different airline (as changing my flight would cost way more) so I actually even have 2 return tickets! I've always returned at the correct times, but my POE is Detroit & I've heard a lot of US Border control, denying even those who have much evidence to return from there. With an apartment, education, the k1 processing and 2 return tickets, should I be worried? Mainly due to it being Detroit?

Not been through Detroit, I don't think. However, you shouldn't have any problem but nothing is ever guaranteed. As you have a good travel history and only going for 2 weeks theoretically it will be fine. But very thing depends on the mood of the CBP officer on the day.

I am visiting in April during CR-1 process and not concerned.

I would say you will most likely be fine, relax as much as you can, bring all your proofs, be honest and truthful, return ticket, maybe even some travel insurance (they like that).
