Hi guys,

I have done some searching before deciding to post, but I didn't find any answer for my situation.

My husband and I have decided to relocate back to New Zealand once he gets out of the military. I'm currently on a temporary green card, which expires in August and he separates in December so we will be applying to remove the conditions. What do we do in order for me to move home with no ramifications from US immigration and will I be able to come visit on a visa waiver after we have moved?

Why not relocate after getting your US citizenship? Then you can come and go from the US as you please. You can apply after 3 years of marriage. It sounds like it wouldn't be too long of a wait, perhaps a year total.

I would suggest the same as the advice above. It seems like a waste to pay to remove the conditions and then have all the privileges striped because you moved.

Just remember that US cititzenship comes with life long tax implications. As someone from a VWP country you can always visit the US, if you do not intend to move back in the future you do not need a US passport.

Conditional green card not temporary. Move ahead of time if you dont plan on staying. Removing conditions is pointless. Look into spousal imigration to NZ for your spouse.
