Hello everyone,

I am new to the visa process and piecing things together with the help of this board. Thank you for all the great info. I haven't found the answer to this exact question yet and wanted to double check your thoughts.

I've lived in the UK for the last 2+ years while working for an American company, my income (AGI, line 22) on the taxes go to nearly 0 as a result of the foreign earned income exclusion. My income is far above the poverty threshold and will continue with the same company once we move. Should I try and move forward with just me in the I-864, or should I ask my mom to also fill one out just in case?

I read somewhere that if you meet it, then you cannot have a joint sponsor, so I'm not sure what to do!

Any advice would be great, thanks so much!

Thank you for your reply, I am a US citizen, and I still need to file for 2015, but 2013 and 2014 have been filed.

What will I need to show that my income is above the poverty line and that it will continue once we move?

Thank you kris&me for your quick response!

Should be fine.

Should be fine.

Your employment contract, pay slips and whatever you have to document your move with the company.
