Hey There,

I am in the same exact situation you are in right now. My fiancees Interview was on the 01/24/2016 and they have updated the status to AP ever since.

The interviewer told her she should be getting her Passport back with visa no longer then three weeks and here we are still waiting.

I have fiiled a complaint against the embassy and I have also notified my state representative.

I have sumbmitted my original docs on 12/24/2014 its almost been a year and several months now. this is just plain stupid.

My understanding is that a state representative will not step in on your behalf until your case has been in AP for something like 6 months.

That's what I've read in the AP forums on the topic.

I was trying to find out how long AP generally is for Cairo and what we could do - if anything - to get an idea of the timeframe for AP.

If either of you find out anything, please report back to the forum. I'd appreciate any insight from those in AP in Cairo currently.

Did any of you receive your visas? If yes, when did you interview and when did you finally receive the visa? My husband and I are going for his interview on June 20th. Nervous about the AP. I really want to go back home to Florida but not without my husband. I've been living with him in Egypt since February 2015. Missing my family, home, and pets. ?

We interviewed on March 15th. Since then we've had no updates and have not received the visa.

They kept my fiancé's passport. We did not get a 221g.

We were told that they needed to do mandatory AP and we shouldn't be waiting long to get the visa.

Seems like they take longer with AP for K1s than married couples...that's just my observation from other people's timelines.

That's nice you get to be with your husband throughout the process. It's awful being apart and waiting months and months to be together.

We were apart almost 9 months after we married... which was also the first time we met. It was a hellish 9 months. I'm very thankful we've been able to be together the past 15 months.

That seems like a long time. I've seen other people who have interviewed mid March and have the visa now, after roughly 6 weeks of AP. Perhaps is the visa type, as you think. I'm hoping us living together nearly 17 months, once we interview, will help us. Not sure about that.
