photocopies of birth certificate

ok so i just did 3 copies front and back of my birth certificate and all of them have a VOID shadow all over the front LOL!! are these going to be acceptable to use? some kind of really crazy watermark to prevent people from doing what I just did I guess..

thank you for any input

Should not be a problem at all since all you need to send is a copy not the original. As others have said, you can also send a copy of the biographic page of your passport.

You should refrain yourself from revealing personal details in the forums for your own security.

Please read and follow the specific instruction given on page 1 of the Form I-129F instructions as it relates to copies:

Copies. Unless specifically required that an original document be filed with an application or petition, a legible photocopy may be submitted. Original documents submitted when not required may remain a part of the record, and will not be automatically returned to you.

What we have successfully done doing our immigration journey, was to submit, as specifically directed) front and back color laser copies of all such important documents. We placed the original documents in Presentation Sheet Protectors, and brought them to our various interviews, so that the government official could compare and verify the copy with the original. For many people, including ourselves, to later try to obtain new originals of some of these documents after coming the US could be very difficult.
